Big screens mean big sat nav. Buttons are making a come back however, was fortunate to go to the Paris motorshow and most of the new EV had buttons as well as the screens. Buttons are better for a muscle memory, not taking your eye of the road aspect.

Charge it in a shell petrol station. It’s approx £1 per kw compared to 8 pence at home so it will give you the reassurance expensive is better.

You need a smart meter and also tell them you have an ev if you have one. I have the pod charger at home also. I would give the name as they’re all the same so I don’t want to promote any company.

The cabin quietness is kind of like trying to clean your driveway - you can clean 99% of it but now you're bothered by the 1% you can't clean 😂 I noticed that with my Polestar EV, it's an amazing cabin overall but now I can hear every little racket

I have had some very quiet petrol cars in the past, the quieter the better for me, I love listening to the stereo and being able to listen to every note, pop bang and whistle, now I have a Genesis which I would consider silent apart from the pot I have in the console with my change in it. I would love to go in the Spectre and appreciate the silence!

it already exists. It's the stuff we're all paying for - and EV owners are paying extra for via hyper-chargers. Cheap electrons are typically an overnight rate (e.g. Economy 7 or Solar)

I borrowed a Wraith for a while. I went for a drive with some friends and when we got out we wondered why it wouldn't lock. Turned out that the engine was still running. And the Spectre makes that look noisy.

If Rolls Royce was clever they would create a perfectly safe containment for thorium , which would provide the power needed for the vehicle for it’s life, something that you could have removed by a specialist that would fit in your next Rolls Royce for a lifetime, that way you would never need a pedestrian source to charge your Rolls Royce .

Most electric cars these days have range between 300 and 400 miles. There are very few people that drive more miles than this daily. I live in a spread out big city in the US. It’s not uncommon to have a 30+ mile commute to work and back. That’s 60 miles. Add another 10-15 for errands. You want to explain to me why an electric vehicle won’t work in any city? Keep in mind you can charge at home every night and wake up to a full charge daily if you live in a house. Even in an apartment, you won’t really need to charge but every couple days. I don’t think you truly understand electric vehicles and just making a bunch of assumptions.

@@Aggie4life77 I'm not talking about range. You assuming I'm talking about range and completely ignoring all the other issues with EVs is hilarious. Most people only need 80 miles of range per day, so again, small city cars would be fine, much cheaper, cleaner, and less traffic. High mileage EVs are great! And for that, you get 50% depreciation in 2 years. It doesn't make sense except for small city cars, where depreciation will be much cheaper, and super luxury cars, where depreciation doesn't matter for most and being an EV actually adds to the experience, as we see in the Spectre. Other than that, only a super cheap leasing that is basically giving away EVs for free make sense. Buying EVs is one of the worst financial decisions anyone can make, because it doesn't make sense, no matter how you put it. And if in your particular case it does, well, you're not like the vast majority of people who don't like burning money, so you don't matter.

*You want to hear a story of a quite Rolls Royce?* I cast my mind back to when I was in my mid/low teens. And that's 50 odd years ago. I was going shopping and had just walked passed someone who was just getting into their Roller. So I stopped and waited for them to move off. I heard him start the engine, but then silence. So I chuckled as he'd stalled it. _And then the car moved off!_ I was stunned. I couldn't hear the engine and I couldn't have been no further than 15 or so feet away from it.

One can see the genes of the 7 Series in the front end. It's uncannily subtle - but there. The rear lights are way too small given the cars proportions. On a scale of 1 to "Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 2", I'd give this a 7.

I do think electric suits RR better than any other high end car manufacturer. The point of their IC engines has always been to be as smooth and silent as possible after all. Perhaps the solution for RR to it being TOO quiet for comfort would be to pipe in the sound of a gentle breeze or other restful sound through the sound system that is just loud enough to mask any potential creaks of leather etc or other undesirable sounds.

RR are shown at private jet shows & yatch shows, where their price tag appears small, verse at auto shows where it's expensive compared to the other cars. At $15K for 1 tank of fuel in a Gulfstream G650, your Roller only cost 25 fill ups of jet fuel.

A brand known for its older mature clientele have created a model appealing to the wealthy mid aged clientele. A solid appealing move, well done. Very beautiful car and I think many of us would see driving one although I am surprised it requires to be plugged in. I would have anticipated a park over charging docking pad of some sort.
