@@jadenspires1891 If they left it as is right now, it won't SELL in many countries. Electric motors can typically move vehicles faster than gasoline engines. So this is why you're seeing various auto makers come out with last gen gas powered guzzlers. Most of Europe and probably all the EU is making them impossible to sell there because of fuel consumption. I think their intention is to be 100% EV by 2030 for sales. A couple EU countries are even before 2030, even 2025. Different European auto makers have already started to move their sports cars to BEV. And when the oil industry wants to CREATE an oil shortage and then make insane record profits like they have last 2 quarters, it's the right action from govts. It's either that or completely regulate them again. I'd be in favor of ending the ability for US oil to be exported, like it was before 2012 or thereabouts, and the US govt. has to approve contracts for sales of refined products to move from the US to other countries. The govt. could also remove leases from companies if they aren't meeting demand in the US. I mean all the moves that have been made over the last 2 decades has been supposedly energy security and then the opposite happens. So I'm glad countries are starting to ban vehicles like this when an oil industry is raping consumers at the worst time possible. The only shortage that exists is because companies or countries don't want to boost production. If companies want to do this then the best move is to greatly reduce the amount of oil being consumed and getting rid of muscle cars is the best place to start, along with trucks.

One of the primary reasons why the Dodge Charger has been such a runaway success is because it draws upon that late 1960's muscle car era and sucessfully modernizes it while achieving perfect proportions and just the right amount of retro inspired details.

You are obviously a Dodge guy and yes the Challenger is a very nice car but it isn't something I would buy. There's too many cars that are better looking in my opinion. Another thing about the new cars is that very few of them will go up in value like the real muscle cars from the 60's and 70's which have skyrocketed in price. I like chrome and steel which is one of the biggest reasons I like the old muscle cars. In my opinion the 1970 to 1973 Camaro RS (real split bumper) is one of the best looking cars ever built.

There was a rumour they going to do these American cars converted to RHD with manufacturer guarantee in Australia, so hopefully cars like this, the F150, C8, RAM1500, etc will be available to us soon. wouldn't buy 1 but would love to see them running around in Pretoria

Get it registered in Botswana and use it in SA.
@shasha0232 жыл бұрын
@@wasifahmad9605 why go to all that trouble? Wouldn’t it be easier to register it in SA, unless Botswana has some low import taxes?
@rushilkisoon2 жыл бұрын
@@shasha023 you can register LHD in Botswana and just drive over the border… SA banned new LHD registrations in 2001.

@@shasha023 I think there is a company in Australia that does this, but once you get it converted and imported it’s like 2 mil++, at which point you might as well buy something local with a warranty and spares support

As much as I love the hellcat and the redeye hellcat, and want to have one, I am more than satisfied with my Scatpack. I have no problem getting mine to 130 MPH (210 KPH). When you first take off (even in the 5.7) traction control is a joke, but when you get to 2nd and 3rd gear and higher, traction control helps in keeping the car going faster. I have 275/30/20 all the way around (the 245s it comes with are a joke). I can't say enough good things about my Scatpack, just brings out a ton of smiles when I drive it.

Love my 21 Dodge Charger hellcat but I've been considering selling it for the m3 comp with x drive. Either that or getting a redeye for the last year they build them.

This car is really fun to drive, but unfortunately it’s almost impossible to own a car like this in some European countries. In the Netherlands you pay a registration tax called bpm. The bpm on this car is €113k! You basically pay the car’s price twice there. In Belgium (Flemish region) you pay ≈ €18.5k first year and then €5800 annually and that annual road tax increases! In France it’s ≈€44k one time tax. No annual road tax. And then you have the UK with £2355 1st year, £685 for 5 years and then £155. UK petrolheads are so lucky 😔 Edit: It's actually £520 per year for 5 years in the UK

hellcat wasted in europe far too many tax paid desk warriors.
@AnnatarTheMaia Жыл бұрын
@@georgehare2915 not wasted: we have the German highway, and it still has lots of stretches where there is no speed limit. And there are lots of scenic, twisty roads in the Alps and mountain passes to take one's muscle car for a cruise on. And when all that is said and done, we have the Nurburgring, for a 30 euro entrance fee. Where American cars do suck in Europe are the European narrow parking spots and narrow streets in cities.

Is 4.7mpg an instantaneous reading? This strikes me as pretty good under such driving, especially for a car like this.

@@FlyingPhysicist for reference the Aston Martin DBX with 707 hp has around 17mpg on average. Even if we drive it hard we would get close to 13mpg. So I personally think 4.7 is too low. But then again nobody's buying a hellcat for mileage
