I agree about the looks. The Discos 3 & 4 look like a rugged 4x4 should look whereas the new one is nothing but a styling excercise that has gone horribly wrong - it is positively ugly!
@Ngunirovers74815 жыл бұрын
Wow! So sad to see so many comments about the disco 4 being unreliable. We run a fleet of 9 on our game reserve in South Africa, done a collective 1million km. With no serious issues. We have had all the discos, but won’t get disco 5 because of looks and price. And if disco 3 was more reliable the 4 we would have stayed with them. Lr4 is the best car in the world! Does absolutely everything, and reliability issues were sorted out.

I have an 2015 discovery 4 and its the best car I have ever owned. I never took any notice of the negative reliability rants, just made up my own mind. I found a very clean low mileage car and sourced a highly rated land rover specialist near me. He said the best advice was regular servicing is the key and his attention to detail has given me trouble free motoring. There is nothing else like it on the road, bad surfaces and bad weather never troubles the car just keeps on going. buy one you will not be disappointed

Hi I’ve found an absolute “minter” from a Land Rover specialist who have an amazing reputation. It’s a 65 plate with 41k and full LR service history. I’m so wary after reading all the bad stuff - do you still have the same opinion? I’d appreciate a reply? Cheers

My disco 3 is 10 years old and has never broken down. I get 10km to the litre and I go 4x4'ing a lot. I can go places in extreme comfort that other 4x4's can only do if you wear a kidney belt. This is a serious piece of engineering so servicing should be done at the dealers and if you don't and you try work on it yourself without the required skill levels then you can expect breakdowns. If you cannot afford it then stick to Toyota, Ford, Nissan and Jeep where you can fix them at home with wire, rubber bands and gaffer tape.
@harveybaker53027 жыл бұрын

The thing that bothers me about these Land Rover reviews is that they seem to gloss over the reliability failures. Two years ago a survey showed that 71% of all Land Rovers over three years old break down at least once a year. I would expect that figure from a new car maker but not one that has been around for decades. As for going off-road in one, here in Australia it would probably be laughed at.
