Very good podcast. Lot of information shared. A buyer for an automatic car should watch this video before shortlisting cars. In AMT for long stops at a signal, you can engage handbrake directly in D mode. The clutch will get disengaged. When starting again, just release the handbrake and press the accelerator. Creep mode will get disconnected when clutch is disengaged. This is why we need to press the accelerator to start moving again.

Actually IMT shifts faster than manual because while engaging the clutch we have to disengage accelerator where in IMT it's not necessary to do so. I am using Sonet IMT which is hassle free to use. Its fun to drive beyter than manual

Not a correct way. You need to disengage accelerator while shifting gear for smooth gear change and longevity. Please check the manual and IMT doesn’t shift faster than manual it always tries to rev match while switching gears and u can’t dump clutch for instant response.

Excellent weekend review!! Informative. Pros and cons were explained. People new to driving are opting for automatic transmission,without experience they get into all sorts of problems, they think that, just on the drive mode and acceleration is driving. Infact driving an is a technique which is a process of learning with driving experience. From my point of view TC would be the best choice. Provided the transmission oil level is maintained. Also, avoiding water to seep inside the transmission. 👌👌👌👍🏻

Thank you very much for the advice. I’m 71 years and I am used to manual transmission go 30 years. I’m healthy and I enjoy driving manual transmission. I’m planning to change my car prefer Honda Amaze. I’m currently driving old swift VDI. Do advise. Can I switch to CVT or continue with MT. I have another 5-10 years active life.( I walk/ run 5kms every day.)

You can go ahead with Amaze or try Nissan Magnite/ Renault Kiger CVT. They are great value for money with spacious cabins & good turbo engine.

Don’t go for amt , you will have the engine noise in the cabin stick with cvt or at . Based on his review I went with baleno amt I regret. The noise will be like the sound when your driving your manual In 1st gear ( I am talking about the noise )

People are conveying AMT is cheapest automatic but I faced an incident in Tata Nano AMT variant AMT unit got failed and Tata service center quoted 1.75Lacs for replacement, I wondered even the car will not go to that price but this AMT replacement is costing this much. So be aware not any automatic is cheap for replacement. AMT failures majorly occurred if car is not used frequently bcoz the AMT actuator piston will failed if not running frequently.

Sir, I feel sometimes in slow moving traffic especially in elevated overbridge in city when traffic is moving inch by inch and if we are going in a upward slope we do not want the car to move backwards will the automatic gear car not move backwards? Another thing is since it is having creep and if we do not want the car to move forward as we are moving inch by inch in a downward slope and another car is very close in front of us, the moment we take the leg off the brake it moves forward due to creep. This is actually leading to many accidents. What do we do in such instances???? Sometimes keeping the leg in the brake for a long time leg pains and if we take off the leg from brake also is dangerous. You are all expert drivers, can you give me a few tips is such situations please.

I don’t understand why Kia doesn’t offer torque converter for their Turbo petrol engine in Seltos. I don’t want to buy DCT. I mean what sane person would want to buy a tech for which the manufacturer has an official video about dealing with overheating issue by stopping your car in the middle of traffic on your trip? Just don’t get it!
