The Raptor is a status symbol for a lot of the buyers. They don’t refer to it as an F-150, it’s a Raptor. All the money put into the F-150, in large part will not be recouped in resale. Whereas the raptor holds its value extremely well. Great video, Mike.
@claudiocadalcoinvestimento30088 ай бұрын
i do agree with the resale thing, but... i will tell you about Brazilian F150.... its costs us in Brazilian money (F150 Platinum v8 5.0 = 100.000 USD), with the taxes, yeah... our corrupt goverment takes that, 100% of the price in taxes, so they can eat caviar and stay in nice hotels on govermental trips... but back... if I want to have the raptor will take about 250.000 USD or more to import it to Brazil.. So what I do, I will buy the F150 Platinum, will send back to USA, set all the acessories that i want, wheels, tyres, flares, suspension, supercharger, everything, will cost me about 35.000 USD for the acessories, installed in USA, then bring back to Brazil, this will save me about 40.000 USD.... do you believe it? yeah... in terms of cars and taxes american have a huge advantage.

V6 won't hold value
@NawfWestTX_OG713Ай бұрын
Believe it not but if you sell it to carmax they'll actually give you more of a value for the truck that's lifted with upgrades meaning like lifts body style interior etc roughly around 20-30k if mileage is low and then resell it as a look alike model to someone that doesn't notice it but dealerships always spot the replicas, only reason I know this is because I had friends that would flip the lifted upgrade trucks to carmax but dealerships will always devalue the truck due to the upgrades. Just some info on the money glitch when it comes to wanting to get some extra cash when wanting to resell a vehicle especially with trucks but if you go to cargurus you can see the price on trucks higher in some states so that's another tip or do a private sale. It's a tip I learned from friends and also some friends that have worked as salesman for big dealerships especially ford chevy Buick and Mercedes. It's harder for foreign cars cause they're uptight about their cars so I'd stick to American and Imports. 🤘🏼

It's easy to comment about somebody else's money/property. I Would be the rest of the 90%! The Raptor is a beautiful truck, and i don't feel like dinging up a 80K truck. Personally? I Would get something less bulky and a whole lot cheaper to off road. A Few open flat fields/open sand would be fun, but i can't imagine putting a Raptor in steep/climbing conditions.

I test drove a 2017 Raptor and it was nice, but too expensive. I ended up getting a 2012 RAM 1500 ST (5.7L Hemi) and I love it. For the money you can't beat the performance and styling. It is the opposite of a Raptor, since it literally has no luxury, it is pretty fast though (as fast as a Raptor). Love my truck.

For about $300 you can get very nice leather seat covers from Clazzio. We did that to my dad's F150 and it looks like it came that way.

ordered mine fully loaded for 69,500 a year and a half ago minus the bead lock. Trade in is 67,000 as of 3 months ago. I only have 9,500 miles on it.....but had to look out of curiosity to see how well it's holding. Think I will be keeping this one for years, I'm that happy with it.

Or if you spend 35,000 dollars on a truck instead of 70,000 you can save 35,000 dollars and not worry about depreciation.

Id rather walk around with Nikes than what ever Walmart sells if I can.....but if I can only get a 35k truck, I sure as hell won't be putting a marker on it to look like Nikes....LOL. Make what you have clean and look good, don't pretend. I almost feel embarrassed for them. Making it look good is more real putting lipstick on something. Like buying a KIA and pasting a foreign badge on it. SAD

Great video Sir and thanks for the detailed information on both trucks. I have watched a few of your videos now on the Raptor. A few observations specific to this video are: (i) The price of your Ford F-150 XLT was probably closer to 50K all said and done. You mentioned that you leased the vehicle for 36 months which probably included a down payment and then monthly lease payment with a buyout at 26K. I added that in so I did a quick computation of 26K buyout + 8.5K mods + 14K lease over 36 months = 48.5K which is essentially 50K; (ii) I noticed a lot of vibration on your driver's side door on the F-150 XLT during your drive. That vibration over time will affect the seal on the door most likely. Not being critical, these are just observations. With those observations, I'm going with a 50K moded F-150 vs 70K Raptor So, I do own a Ford Performance vehicle which is the 2017 Mustang GT 350. Since owning that vehicle, I have felt blessed to have driven a piece of engineering perfection. My final conclusion and thoughts are that there is something special going on at Ford Performance right now and anyone who has a chance to take advantage of this opportunity should look into one of these vehicles. I'll be getting a Raptor soon despite the price tag and will even trade in my supercharged Audi S to get it. Thank you to him for Ford Performance Division. God Bless America and Long Live the Republic!

Honestly even as a car guy it took me a moment to spot the differences up front aside from the color. I thought the Raptor was the bigger truck but it doesnt look to be that way? Also some more appearance rugged stuff under the front bumper that looks nice and is probably functional. But other than that, they both look like the same awesome trucks. (Initial impressions, pre-video) Edit: okay the F150 is a lot of aftermarket got it.

Part of your ride issue in the STX is the rims and tires, you hardly have any rubber, it will be noticeably stiffer than it would be with your Raptor wheels/tires on them

is kind of like comparing apples to oranges because of the price difference, but I would rather have the Raptor. I have the STX sport 4x4 with some cool wheels and tires...It would take a lot of persuading to peel me away from "My Truck", so I get the fact that personal mods helps with owner appreciation. Great Video, thanks

I'll keep my 2006 F150 XLT Heavy duty 4x4 longbed (10k towing) that was paid off in 2012. I use my truck for what a truck is supposed to be used for. WORK. these huge trucks driving around like garage queens is just a big waste of money. But hey whatever and yes like the other guy said. You lease it for 3 years is alot of money that ahould be added to the 35k you keep saying.

Not sure why Ford doesn't just release the base F150 in that style. People are doing it anyway. Would only boost sales even further. And just upgrade the interior bit more for the raptor.

The Raptor has 410 gear ratio in both front and rear differential , so the ten speed transmission comes in handy . Otherwise u wouldn't be able to drive the truck on the highway at high speeds for a long period of time . The engine would Rev way to high .

So you leased the F150 for 3 years that's a monthly payment for the lease that was im guessing 300-450 for the lease every month that turns out to be 10800-16200.00 dollars for the lease cost for the 3 years and then you have the purchase price of the vehicle which i believe you said was around 26k which would put you around 36K- 42k for the price you've paid plus the 8K in Mods that puts you at 44K-50K for the total cost of this truck but that's just a ballpark figure. im sitting around an identical price point out the door 2018 F150 SCSB 5.0L V8 302A XLT sport appearance package, towing package, FX4 Package and TBC i was at 42k and some change after discounts. Now modding my truck in similar way have Cool air intake front leveling kit tailgate damper, Super 40 Flowmaster muffler welded up to the stock 3" exhaust with 3" straight pipe. 6000k LED/HID headlights/Fog lights sence i cant afford the 1500.00 dollar Morimoto headlights that are the only available aftermarket headlight for the 2018 F150 ATM but i plan on getting the ANZO switchback when they come out hopefully. The future holds some Wheel spacers and some larger 33" tires with spray in bed liner and AMP research automatic step boards, as well as some fender flairs with the Raptor style Marker lights as i also want to make my truck look like a raptor. im thinking about putting a black FORD wrap and marker lights on my grill but dont know how thats going to turn out. love the videos keep them coming
@NordicViking886 жыл бұрын
i was just saying that the numbers didnt add up and was trying to do my own calculation. he was saying that he got the truck out the door for 26k but i was just trying to inform everyone that the lease for 3 years cost money as well plus all the add ons that hes put on so its not a 35K wannabe raptor but closer to 50k wannabe raptor. and i would never seek out financial advice from a youtuber i traded my tacoma and put a bigger down payment on my F150 to get some low payments ill have it payed off by next year sometime.
@timmymorin51046 жыл бұрын
he wasnt including the lease. his point was that you or i could go buy a 3 year old truck and mod it to our liking for $35K. Or you could spend double that money on a new raptor. personally i think the modded F-150 is nicer.
@keedndeed58836 жыл бұрын
Rottie Man you are dumb. A 2015 f150 v8 used, you can buy for 35k and under. You are missing the point. This is a comparison for the average person that has to chose between these two trucks at the dealership or used on craigslist. Who cares if he leased it THEN bought it running him over 35k for that truck. The point is that a generic f150 DOES IN FACT COST HALF THE PRICE OF THE RAPTOR. You are beyond stupid.
@keedndeed58836 жыл бұрын
Brian Waller you still completely missed the point. Why are you bringing up different videos of car loans and leasing vehicles? People who mod their vehicles dont lease it anyways! They make payments and/or pay it all cash! The point of the video is that a modded f150 looks badass and is significantly cheaper than a raptor? What part of that DONT YOU UNDERSTAND? you do realize even 2012 raptors are still going for 40-50k used right? Please, keep talking about your brain cells because its so relevant to trucks. You and the other guy on this comment seem to take personal jabs. Im simply saying a modded f150 looks just as badass as the raptor for a fraction of the cost. Do you NOT believe that?

Raptors are more expensive but they depreciate very little. Especially compared to a normal F150. Actually a better financial decision to get a raptor over like a 60K king ranch

Both trucks are sweet. I like both. I’ve got an XLT love it. I’m not real into leather myself. I’ve got the 2.7 Ecoboost and it does great. I like the feel of the turbos. Makes it feel faster. Mine is set up for towing. With the highest package for XLT. As for those trucks they both are set up for a different feel and preference. Thumbs up
@HaroonDar6 жыл бұрын
Why is it that the interior on this raptor is so dated? Spending 70k for a truck like this your better off getting a q8 or an x5 much better SUV especially if you don't even use the bed of the truck. I love the exterior on the f150 but I could never get why Ford doesn't go the extra mile on the interior
