Hi Catherine, Your gardening videos are so sweet and calming. You’re so lucky to have such a long growing season. Winters in Canada can be long and harsh. Bulbs seem to flower for a week once the growing season starts and plants in the garden have to be hardy to withstand drought, torrential downpours and extreme heat. Weeds here have adapted to the conditions are often the best growers in the garden. Thank you for sharing your “little bit of heaven”.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I can only imagine how challenging gardening must be in such tough conditions. It sounds like your plants (and even the weeds!) have to be real survivors. I've spent 2 days planting bulbs in the past week after our first frost arrived. I ordered Tulips - Double Late Finolas, Darwin Hybrid Pink & Berry Blush (purples); Mix of Daffodils & Muscari. I bought in bulk so I still have lots to plant in the ground and in containers! I hear you about anticipating feeling blue in cold winter days ahead! I started canning for the first time, made salsa verde and tomato sauce from the last harvest of tomatoes. You've handled your difficult year with grace and positivity. We were out in our garden today, it’s big 😳 but the leaves 🫢the council have trees over the back from us in the cemetery and of course we get their leaves, and with storm Ashley over the weekend the front garden is covered! I was out with the secateurs, cutting back ferns that had self seeded, in a shady part, All the bulbs are in bar a few in the hut, we need to remember those 🤭 and get them planted. It does us all good to spend some time in the garden, even if it is just seeping up.

The edging looks beautiful! I didn't order any new bulbs but I bought some on impulse at a local discount store. I bought a mix of jumbo pink and jumbo purple for a hill in the backyard. Bought a massive bag of "apricot impression" tulips that were just gorgeous...had no idea where I was going to put them! Ended up putting them in a small bed near our front porch, hopefully the squirrels don't find them!

Last year, I really meant to clean the front and back yards in fall before winter set in. However, I never got to it due to health issues and everything looked horrible and neglected. This year, I made a promise to myself that I would not neglect my yards. However, I knew somewhere in my head that I would not be able to do anything so yesterday I made a snap decision to call a landscaping company to do the job. Best decision I made. Two guys came, and within two hours they had cleaned both yards and did a superb job. Sometimes, spending a little money can give you so much peace of mind. Your yard looks lovely in this weather. Hi Catherine! 🌷💐🌼 I told myself no bulbs this year … that was until the Colorblends catalog arrived. 1,500 bulbs later…. I got them all planted in one day thanks to my power planter auger. Spanish bluebells, Bakeri Lilac Wonder Tulips, Purple Sensation Allium, Glory of the Snow, Gold Shoulder Daffodils, Muscari, Oriental Beauty Dutch Iris and Cheerfulness Daffodils 😅. I have been planting 500-1000 bulbs every fall for a few years with some success getting them to come back the following year and start to naturalize. Your raised beds inspired me to plant 2 of my own raised beds full of tulips (with the intent of using for cutting bouquets- ha, never happened! They were too pretty all together to cut). Thank you for sharing little glimpses into your picturesque Irish cottage garden. Ireland is a bucket list destination for me one day 💚 Love and happy planting from Erin in Minnesota!

I made my first bulb order back in August, lol. They were having a sale, so I couldn't pass it up. In my first order, I got miniature daffodils, specie tulips, dutch iris, mini iris, alliums, and fritillarias. I later ordered 200 large tulips. I get so excited, Spring is my favorite season. Where I'm at, Missouri, US, daffodils start popping around the end of February, early March. I started purple sensation alliums from seed that have to go out, too. Spring bulbs are little surprises of hope ; ).They show up when you need them the most after a long winter. I love them all, but daffodils are my favorite.

Thanks for the grass edge tool - amazing. I think we knew about them but my husband uses my grandads old gardening knife. Then he would come in, complaining of a backache. Now I know what to get him for Christmas. 👍🏼

From America, in our area we will see crocus in Feb-March and Daffodils in March, Tulips in April. But first one MUST plant bulbs to see spring flowers!

Absolutely! Planting bulbs is the first step to enjoying those beautiful spring blooms. It’s exciting to think about the crocus, daffodils, and tulips brightening up the garden after winter. Each one brings a lovely touch of color and joy! Happy planting! 🌷🌼

We planted small blubs in the front lawn, frittilery, snow drops, crocus, etc. And I just got the last of the daffodils planted yesterday. I'm doing away with tulips because they don't last and squirls dig them up unless I put them in pots in my garage during the winter here is the north east of America. Your edging looks fantastic and I really need to so that at my house
