So nice to see you out in your garden Catherine and sounding somewhat brighter. It'll take time but keeping busy and doing what you love is a wonderful healer. The flowers at the beginning were absolutely beautiful and so now is your lane way. A good plant for shade is hosta, however your little chums will munch them one of mine this year has been reduced to few shreads. Like you I won't use chemicals as wildlife has a hard enough time as it is. Keep doing what gives you peace and take care ❤❤🎉

Don’t forget, you can flip empty pots upside down to use as risers for other plant pots. I use mine to raise up the smaller planted pots so they don’t get lost on the ground. Very satisfying clean up, I did that a few years ago and got rid of extra garden items. Wishing you peace in your current life journey. 🙏🏻🩷take care

Sarcococca or Christmas box is good for dry shade and evergreen. And has the most gorgeous winter scent! When the garden is asleep in the winter you'd get a waft of beautiful sweet smell near your door to welcome you home. Might be good in your corner in the lane Catherine. Love power washing too! Have you considered a hellebore for that corner. It comes in many flower colors, some varieties grow quite tall and it is green most of the year. The garden looks grand. ❤️🙏😊

Sand, just plain old sand. My grandfather scrubbed it into the tiles if it rained and it cleaned it all. It helped in the winter against snow and ice too. It must be the sharp glass, shell pieces, and sea salt I guess. Now I love watching someone else powerwash though 🤣

Working in the garden is so peaceful, even when it's a mess. You made the cleanup look so quick & easy, and that layer of mulch is like a topping on a cake.... You asked about a good shade plant; well I've had luck with Hellebores (Lenten Roses) they like shade and always know to bloom just around Easter. They go very nicely with Heuchera & Brunner. Go fix a cup of tea, sit and admire your work, like we do. Peace to you Catherine!

One thing I would suggest when power washing to make it faster is a Kärcher 15" Surface Cleaner or something similar. It saved me a lot of time. I also, love your videos where you re-set an area. We all have those.

Aquilegia or Dicentra would do well near Heuchera. Pollinators adore them. Mine attract hummingbirds.

You can't beat a bit of pottering to still the mind. That was a good job well done. It's always so satisfying to see the end results and I hear you on the pots. I made that mistake once. Never again. In summer I had to get up extra early to have time to water them all before work. What was I thinking! But I overcame my pot addiction and you can too , Catherine. Sending much love xxx
