So nice to see you out in your garden Catherine and sounding somewhat brighter. It'll take time but keeping busy and doing what you love is a wonderful healer. The flowers at the beginning were absolutely beautiful and so now is your lane way. A good plant for shade is hosta, however your little chums will munch them one of mine this year has been reduced to few shreads. Like you I won't use chemicals as wildlife has a hard enough time as it is. Keep doing what gives you peace and take care ❤❤🎉

Don’t forget, you can flip empty pots upside down to use as risers for other plant pots. I use mine to raise up the smaller planted pots so they don’t get lost on the ground. Very satisfying clean up, I did that a few years ago and got rid of extra garden items. Wishing you peace in your current life journey. 🙏🏻🩷take care

I was craving the Irish accent and was happy to see your post :)). We visited friends who live in the Cavan area of Virginia and I asked to go to Eason's to pick up your second book! I was thrilled to purchase it in Ireland and explore Eason's. They have it all there :). What a beautiful country you have, I was loving it all and the weather was fantastic, which we heard was not the norm! I thought of you when in Dublin at the airport as well as waiting to board the Irish Ferry to Wales. Sarcococca or Christmas box is good for dry shade and evergreen. And has the most gorgeous winter scent! When the garden is asleep in the winter you'd get a waft of beautiful sweet smell near your door to welcome you home. Might be good in your corner in the lane Catherine. Love power washing too! I am hoping next year, to move the gate forward, to make it a functional space, Im hoping to have some Reno work done in the kitchen, so I would need to move my bins to the laneway, so moving the gate forward will hide the view of them, but I could possible use it as a functional space, hang my spade etc on the wall.

There is a karcher power wash attachment that you can get, made to clean the laneway and other backyard terraces 😊 it has a rotating brush that allows you to clean a bigger area at once. Works really well 😅

One thing I would suggest when power washing to make it faster is a Kärcher 15" Surface Cleaner or something similar. It saved me a lot of time. I also, love your videos where you re-set an area. We all have those.

You might have already had them. The side part - have you thought about montbrecia I think it would grow nice in their & possibly mixed in with a fern - just a thought . Wet n Forget is a really got product. You dilute it, put it in a garden sprayer, spray everything. You have to you this when the ground is dry and not going to rain for at least a few hours. 😊

Working in the garden is so peaceful, even when it's a mess. You made the cleanup look so quick & easy, and that layer of mulch is like a topping on a cake.... You asked about a good shade plant; well I've had luck with Hellebores (Lenten Roses) they like shade and always know to bloom just around Easter. They go very nicely with Heuchera & Brunner. Go fix a cup of tea, sit and admire your work, like we do. Peace to you Catherine!

Have you considered a hellebore for that corner. It comes in many flower colors, some varieties grow quite tall and it is green most of the year. The garden looks grand. ❤️🙏😊

Yes hellebores would do well and maybe some cyclamens for colour now and both will spread 🤗
