I love autumn. It’s my favorite season. The colors are so rich, bold and strong. The air is more brisk and lively. Animals are storing food and getting ready for hibernation. Kids and dogs jumping in leaf piles plus Halloween and Thanksgiving. Plus birds flying south.

Beautiful video. Living 60 miles south of Mt. Shasta in a small town called Shasta Lake, I look forward to seeing Orion's Belt right outside my south and est bedroom window. The whisper of Autumn awoke my inner spirit, just thrilled to see the last hot days drift away. A time of harvesting all the lessons learned this year, a time of self reflection and creation. A certain mysticism sets in this time of year.

Autumn is my favourite season too, despite in Guatemala we haven't the 4 seasons marked; I has been in North hemisphere in the end of the autumn and in the end of summer never in autumn foliage/orange and terracotta leaves. Nice video :)

I love this video. I wanted to learn more about the seasons because here in the Bay area in California specifically that East Bay we have amazing seasons. In the fall leading into the Winter you can see all of the plants starting to Bud so all of the trees and flowers are just filled with buds and I get so excited watching them and waiting for them to Bloom in the Spring. The Earth is so amazing! I want to learn more about stargazing

As a kid this was not necessarily my favorite season because it was back to school but now as an adult and the Jewish New Year of Rosh Hashanah beginning on Monday, September 26, 2022 it is time like you said for rebirth and renewal in the southern hemisphere and closure in the northern hemisphere. We close one year in Judaism and open another sealing us in the book of life for the next year.

One day the trees are bare, the next day, all green and full. State of Kansas. The plate lands. Been here all my life. Great video.

Hello, as I’m living in the Northern hemisphere I’m waving the summertriangle and milkyway goodbey and welcoming the andromeda galaxy, Pegasus and friends. I’ve enjoyed the perseid meteorshowers, parades of the planets, … in summer but I am also looking foreward at what autumn will bring us. Anyway I’m just like you collecting Jacques Lebel appels from my garden and will prepare yummy beignets meanwhile I ll keep looking up 🍎🍏🎃🌟🌙🌎

About the Autumnal Equinox, whereby the daytime hours are equal to the nightime hours. Is this equalization performed in both the southern and northern hemisphere, at the same time? If so, how long does this equalization lasts? Is it just for one day, or for several days? Thanks

The equinoxes and solstices are something that everyone on Earth experiences. The equal parts day/night does slightly vary depending on your location. I hope this helps.

I highly disagree with calling these phenomena with the 4 seasons. They are based on northern latitudes, which means its the OPPOSITE season in the South, and tropics only have rainy and dry season(where I live). I prefer to be more world accurate and calling them Northern or Southern Solstices and Equinoxes, which means the direction the sun moves in the sky. So, 22 December would be Southern Solstice because Sun is at its most Southern point in sky, which means less Sun to the North(Winter) but more Sun to the South(Summer). 21 March North Equinox because Sun is at its top in the sky moving to the north. You get the idea, and these new names apply to the whole world, not only to the North latitudes.

I totally agree with you. I used to always teach from the perspective of the Northern hemisphere because that is where I live, but now I am shifting my instruction because it excludes half the planet. I am learning that the astronomy community will preserve certain practices in order to honor and preserve the work of ancient astronomers. It can get very confusing at times!
