it looks so romantic walking in the rain, with a cute umbrella in Seoul. I think there is something so special about going out in the rain, find a cute café, and sit there by yourself, and just think. see the city moving. when i lived in a big city, it felt like we were all experiencing the rain together, that "together but apart" feeling. idk if i can explain. 😄 living away from the city now, i really miss that feeling. There is not much i miss about living in a big city, but that feeling of we are all doing our thing, but experience it together - that is something really special .. to me 💕 i mean... yesterday i watched this korean actress talk about how she was keeping her weight at 48kg for her role in a drama. and like holy sh...... remember that. you DO live in the capital of "must stay super super skinny no matter the cost" that is bound to have an effect on some days. you look great. you are a beautiful adult woman. not a child. women have curves and if you go against what your body wants, so much illness and imbalance can happen. i know you know 💕 it's a ever lasting struggle to be friends with your own body. it comes and goes for me too :)

Thank you for sharing about your body thoughts, I can relate to it a lot. When people see you, they must think that you are just a beautiful girl who’s 100% confident about her body, but in fact, it’s not easy to be so confident everyday and it’s okay, especially during period.

I have felt that I’ve been circling around some old patterns of thoughts & behavior’s over the past month (lots of planets have been retrograde so it’s the opportune time to look at these things again) which allows me to continue to rise up further through my healing (since it’s not linear) and every strong feeling helps me to see clearly that where I allow myself to be authentically in my feelings and talk or journal about them accelerates my healing. I so appreciate your honesty regarding momentary struggles! It helps to feel we are not alone and that others can use our support too!! Thank you

I recently read 'The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo' and was mind blown on every chapter! I just got back from 3 weeks in Korea and loved Hannam area!! Went and explored it after watching your videos and all the cute places you go to. Agree - it was nice to go shopping in a physical store (also online shopper). Pants definitely are small and I also found the arm circumference on some shirts so small. Im a US4 and did find it somewhat limiting and tried to not let it get to me. But Handbags, jackets, oversized look items and hair accessories were winners for me! But thank you, as your videos helped in my travels. I’m so glad I explored Hannam area. Seoul is a really cool place to explore!

Hi Sissel, I really enjoyed ur video today and quick comment bout my impression 🙂 I'm a Korean woman passing through my 20s. Few yrs back, I came back from Denmark after finishing a yr of study. I missed Dk so much then I found ur channel who connects 2 countries and sees Korea as a Dane's eye. As a Korean who saw Danmark with my Korean eyes, I really enjoyed ur video. But in some sense, I just felt not 100% comfortable and relaxed watching them maybe bc there were some points that I feel like you are trying to show only the prettiest part (including ur thoughts) and sometimes pretending sth. I didnt catch up ever since. But this video, after 3 yrs, your video is so relaxing and comfortable that just suits this holiday morning and ur honesty really shines. Thanks for sharing what you really felt and adding up revisions on that. Glad to get a step closer to your genuine self 🩶

Thank you for saying this 💚 unfortunately whatever part you choose to show online, some people will think bad about it. If I’m pointing out negative aspects of Korea people say I’m not appreciative or disrespectful but when I show the beautiful parts I’m “unrealistic” and “out of touch”. In reality all I’ve ever done is show Korea exactly how I see it. I always choose to see the beautiful aspects of this country, and for me there are far more beauties than negatives - if not I wouldn’t be here. Glad you came around again 💚💚

Anytime someone asks, I have to recommend The Mortal Instruments. It's 6 books in that series, but there are more in the same universe. It is not technically just fantasy; it's Young Adult Fiction. I think it's a good beginner's book because it's not set in a fantasy world. It's set in New York so a non-fantasy reader can identify better with the "fantasy" world. 🙂 - Also I'm new on your channel and I think your videos are really beautiful!

I feel you on the body discomfort, I also have been feeling a little uncomfortable with my body and it motivated me to work out a bit. But honestly Sissel my thing is just mental, like I think yours is because you’re not heavy at all when I see you. My peers also tell me I don’t look heavy. Sometimes we just don’t feel connected to our bodies and that’s okay, it’s up to us to decide what’s healthy for us and what to continue doing that makes us happy. You look great Sissel, don’t let that bring you down. Sending love from Mexico. 🤍

@@sisselab I just finished the video and wanted to add something after listening to you talking about struggling with your body image. Me telling you that you aren't big won't make that thought go away but I wanna do something for you that my nana used to do for me. Others see beauty in you that you might not see, for example I find the way you move mesmerizing, the way you carry yourself, talk, your hand gestures you are graceful and elegant without trying. The more beauty you can find in yourself the less negative thoughts will come. So maybe next time when you edit you will notice your graceful movements and you can look at yourself in a more loving way. Lots of love to you xx ♥

I definitely have some fiction book recommendations! I mostly read fantasy so if thats something you enjoy as well they might fit :) I recently read the poppy war series, it's a heavy topic so make sure you're prepared for that but they're amazingly well written and the characters have a lot of depth. If you prefer stand-alone books I can highly recommend both circe & the song of achilles, especially if you also enjoy greek mythology. Lastly, I think the midnight library might be a nice book to read to get back into it and I think it's something you would enjoy aswell! Thank you for another lovely, cosy, video this week

I don't read as much as I used to but I was an avid reader in my younger years and fantasy was one of my favourite genres. One of my all time favourite fantasy series is 'The Mortal Instruments' by Cassandra Clare along with the prequel series 'The Infernal Devices' which feature all the supernatural creatures from angels to demons. Another series I love is 'The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel' by Michael Scott which is all about alchemy. But my gosh, I read so many books but I can't find my book review record at the moment which contains almost everything I read 😅

I would suggest starting with basic non-fiction in order to ease into magical genre. My favorite book is The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea from Yukio Mishima. It’s super short but very very dramatic. And then I would suggest Before The Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi, the total opposite of the one before. Super heartwarming and slow paced. As for the magic genre maybe go for Harry Potter, the OG 😊

Also love your new nails ❤ Such a pretty colour for autumn 🍂 Thank you for reminding me that it is okey to feel off in your own body. Feeling uncomfortable with your body some days is so valid, but also you’re living in a country which stores mainly provide clothes for petite women. In European/American/Australian countries the average clothe size for women is a size 16 AU. When I was watching this vlog and the clothes were too small for you I thought it was insane because here in Australia you would have no issue finding clothes and pants that would fit you. Please don’t feel hard on yourself you look amazing and clothing sizes are all so determinant on where you live and what stores you have access too. Don’t let the fashion industry make you feel bad about your body which looks amazing btw!

Ohhh those flat linear glasses look good on you! You have the right face shape & proportions. Back in the days, I always thought those glasses were horrible and the fashion houses were crzy for inventing those silhouettes. But now I realise they can be aesthetic

Girl, I feel the same... it seems a lot of us feels that way lately (not happy with the way I look, feel fat and uncomfortable). I think it is the weather! I live in Shanghai and I think Seoul has a similar weather, lately it's been raining and humid and it's like my body is absorbing the humidity 🥲

I just finished reading the novel 'The Unbroken' by C.L Clark, it's more of a political fantasy narrative with lots of discussion around anti-imperialism and revolution, as well as queer love plotlines - highly recommend and I'm starting on the second book now. In terms of wholesome fantasy that just makes me cackle I love reading the Tiffany Aching series by Terry Pratchett, first book is 'The Wee Free Men', Terry's thoughtful wit always makes me smile. Happy reading and just found your channel, love your vlogs!
