What a fantastic weekend that was! Here are some of the highlights from another brilliant autumn steam gala! Don't forget you have another chance to ride behind No. 4144 this weekend: watercressline...

We went on Saturday. The weather was lovely and seeing the recreation of the atlantic coast express was magical. Our 7 year old son was most excited to see dave going back and forth but his favorite part was the play area at ropley andxthe fun zone in theobservstion room of the workshop. He qlso loved our first ever visit to Medstead and four marks meeting the wagon group andxseeong insidecthe brake van. And spending all daddys money at the stands. Hexloves the Urie groups Pawdley bear he. got

Great video... and it was an amazing gala! For me the 56xx was definitely star of the show, an absolute first class noise making machine!!!! Congratulations to all involved in organising and running the event, another MHR triumph!!

Enjoyed my day out with the family on the line greatly! Can't wait for the 2025 galas. If a GWR 7800 class gets invited to the line i'll be there again for sure!

We went on the Friday. However, although we had a good day, the way the train program was arranged it was not particularly friendly for the disabled. For mobile people it was no problem to cross from one platform to the other with the many shortened runs, but for the disabled it was problematic. My wife, who's disabled, could not keep getting on and off trains and changing platforms and having to cross bridges. So we were basically restricted to the runs from Alresford to Alton and back again which limited the locos we could go behind. As Life members we have regularly attended the Galas and this has been the first we've had probems at. A colleague who is also a life member made this same comment after seeing the time table.
