Man I love road trips so much!!! I filmed this last year with Manu & only got around to publishing it now (very me I know hahaha) But since the autumn leaves this year are a bit delayed, hopefully you can use this as a reference for where to go!! 💖🍁

Hey Sarah, would it be possible to share when you shot this? Just for reference of the state of the autumn leaves for those visiting (next week!)
@Apocalyptic3826 күн бұрын
@@juvetb1 It has to have been within the last week if it was shot this year. Fuji didnt have snow until about 6 or so days ago.
@eh49475 күн бұрын
@@Apocalyptic382 Sarah already mentioned it was filmed last year. I think that the person is asking around what time last year it was, to get an idea of what to expect next week (although as mentioned, we know it only just started getting snow!) Would be good to know as I am also interested.

I live in Kawaguchiko and Fuji still doesn’t have any snow visible this year, it’s raining later this week so might see more soon. The autumn foliage came late this year so there’s not as much colour (especially momiji corridor) and trees are now starting to lose their leaves. But still beautiful and worth visiting
@alexshipp25054 күн бұрын
Thanks for posting this! I stayed in lake kawaguchiko last night and visited the village you suggested. Amazing views and village to visit. The autumn leaves haven’t all stayed to turn yet, but still lots of beautiful colours to see.

When you're in Kawaguchiko, you absolutely need to visit the Itchiku Kubota museum! He reinvented some lost old technique to dye kimonos. He "drew" huge pictures, placing several kimonos side by side. The museum building is itself kind of cool, but the kimonos themselves are breathtaking.

Thanks again, Sarah! We went to Fujinomiya this past August. It's not generally the best time of year because of weather patters, but the clouds cleared in the early afternoon that day and we were blessed with a magnificent view of Mt. Fuji. We also visited Shirakawago on our trip, which has similar traditional buildings to Iyashi no Sato. Missing Japan now that I'm back in the States again.

Thank you for the scenic views! I try to go to Fuji Goko every autumn; usually as a one-day trip (which is practical from Tokyo if you wake up and leave early enough). IME houtou has varied substantially depending on the restaurant, with some places using shiro-miso (like what you had), while others use darker Shinshu or Koshu misos which give a more full-bodied flavor. I normally don't see Koshu miso sold in Tokyo, so if you would like to try making it yourself, I'd suggest blending a kome-koji miso and mugi-koji miso together. FWIW, the miso should be added to the broth after the noodles have softened - if the miso is added while the noodles are still hard(er), they won't soften properly. BTW, have you tried visiting any of the michi-no-eki stores? They invariably sell locally produced foodstuffs, some of which may not normally be available outside of the area. A lot of fun to shop at.

Ive already been to fujikawaguchiko and went up the 400 steps to the top of chureito pagoda for the most incredible view of mt fuji and pagoda shot. I solo traveled back in early 2020 to do that and more! Next year in November im going back but this time with my wife and I hope she experiences that same view as well. Fingers crossed its visible that day! Just planning on staying 1 night this time unfortunately. Definitely saw alot in this video that id like to do. Really great ideas for that! 😊
