Come away to the wildest landscapes of Donegal, where Magee 1866 have been inspired by their 150-year weaving tradition. This autumn winter 2024 they continue to work in natural fibres working timeless silhouettes for men and women in luxuriously earthy tones and rich feel-good textures; with many of the fabrics for the collection designed and woven in their mill in Donegal.
Charlotte Temple Creative Director of Magee 1866 explains, “We come into our own in the autumn winter season. As a fifth-generation weaving mill that specialises in woollen fabrics our collections are a showcase for luxurious fibres from lightweight merinos to chunky Donegal Tweeds. Inspiration this season was drawn from the beauty of the winter landscape. Cold, frosty winter nights in Donegal has inspired a palette of navy, black and grey with a hint of berry, bracken and deep green. Fabric designs range from plain wools to subtle checks and Donegal herringbones and salt & peppers. Knits feature luxury yarns from cashmere blends, merinos and lambswools, while Irish linens and print add pattern and texture to the collection with beautiful Liberty print (Made in Liberty Fabrics) and Baird McNutt linen.”
