american here! my on campus dorms had ovens/stoves fridges and in my first one we also had a washer and dryer! i had a friend that lived in a campus owned duplex and she had a full on house! the freshman dorms didnt have any appliances though and they had a communal bathroom that was shared through the whole floor (yikes)

Gorgeous as always. I use a mod to be able to have stoves in the student housing, as I have always found it strange stoves aren’t allowed. Sims team has to remember things are different in other countries.

This is such a beautiful build ❤ For some reason I find Edinburgh’s charm really comes into place the worse the weather is lol. My favourite times to visit is autumn and winter. It’s weirdly cosy being all bundled up and wandering around the older parts. Love the Christmas market too.

The thumbnail is stunning! As someone who graduated from an American University it is very common for freshman dorms to only have a kitchenette with fridge and microwave. Luckily my school placed me in the nicer apartment style dorms so we had a full kitchen, which was barely used lol. For game play purposes, it’s so nice to have a kitchen to build the cooking skill alongside all the other skills you’re building as you play through university! Edit: The traffic cone is an American thing too!! I’ve known several boys who proudly showed their cone off every time they decorated it around the holiday seasons

I have literally never been so tempted to buy all of the (many, many) packs that I don't currently have in order to download this lot in all its glory. Also, I did my post grad in Edinburgh and one of my friends lived just off the Royal Mile and this building is so similar. Theirs wasn't as nice on the inside though cause we were all broke grad students. All the ceilings in those buildings were really high, so your choice of medium wall height was spot on!

The castle kit is great. I use it for so many historical or magical builds. It goes well with the vampires pack. I get what you mean tho. There are so many packs and kits now and it won’t slow down any time soon. 😬

I always love hearing about everyone’s different experiences around the world! So I’m in the US and it’s true most of the student housing doesn’t have kitchen appliances! The reason why is mostly for safety reasons, so everyone has to get a dining hall pass. You basically never cook you just go to the dining hall for every meal. Or if you do apartment student housing then you have a normal apartment with all the kitchen appliances! There are usually both options here in the US just depends on the cost!

just from the thumbnail alone, i can tell this build is absolutely stunning!!!! i love the autumn aesthetic in general so so much. and i completely feel the same with favouring autumn and the longer nights! everything about the season feels so cosy and it's even better being able to wrap up under a thick blanket with hot chocolate :] november is just the perfect month for me because it keeps all the autumn vibes and leftover spooky from october but also, christmas is around the corner, so it's just the happy medium for me.

You can have a small refrigerator And a Microwave , some people I know have hot plates but you really are not supposed to have those in your room but if you live off campus of course , you can have whatever.

What’s really interesting about this to me - and don’t get me wrong I think this is excellent - is that you can tell you were specifically a tourist in Edinburgh rather than living here. The design and the outside of the buildings is spot on, but the inside is like 400 years too historical? again - I *love* this build, and I can’t get over how the exteriors and the space feels like Edinburgh so much! But most Edinburgh buildings were built in about 1900, rather than being medieval, even the ones on the Royal Mile and the like. Gorgeous, gorgeous build, but I promise we don’t live in converted churches and gatehouses here.

This is literally so beautiful. I'm stunned. Also its not perfect for a music degree you could maybe use the fine arts degree! That one can lead to the musician branch of the entertainer career. And for the artist sim, fine arts is great but art history could also work! Also I'm American and I paid $12,000 per year for tuition (after scholarships and financial aid. Without that, it would've been more than 30,000). That didn't even include dorming! Also you're right about the ovens... Its a big thing here that you can't bring anything that can cook food like a grill or a hot plate. However, most dorms have a common room with a fridge and an oven. It's weird that the Sims team included that in the pack because I was under the impression Britechester was more British influenced haha but I'm not sure why I thought that in particular.

I think dorms are different everywhere, i live in the us and had a multiple kitchens in our building so it might just depend on the university. Also, i love this build so much, your such a creative person and i cant wait to watch your future builds 💕
