I just rewatched Arsenic and Old Lace and it's a laugh riot! I love when one of the aunts says they're going to bury their recent victim in the basement with the others and Grant says, "Others! When you say others, you mean, more than one others!" His delivery of that line is incredible. Great video! This is also my favorite time of the year as well. One movie I rewatch pretty much every October is Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein. I also enjoy rewatching Bob Hope and Paulette Godard in The Ghost Breakers and The Cat and the Canary in the fall as well.

Before you mentioned Douglas Sirk, I was thinking of Todd Haynes’ “Far from Heaven,” which was sort of an homage to Sirk’s work. The color scheme definitely alludes to the fall even when there aren’t scenes showing leaves turning yellow, orange, and red.

"The Uninvited" and the 1945 British anthology film "Dead of Night" (which has an amazing framing story) are my two favorite horror films. Your autumnal list is excellent but, as many others have suggested, you really do need to see "Far from Heaven." It's an excellent film with beautiful fall foliage. Finally, I also agree with those who say the original "Halloween" gives off really strong fall vibes. Keep up the great work!

I love The Trouble with Harry. Such a great and unexpected movie for Hitchcock. Other fall picks are Halloween and The Omen, The House on Haunted Hill the originals of course. What Lies Beneath is so good. Sleepy Hollow. Love this time of year for movies.

Thank you for the recommendations! Autumn is my favorite season as well. I love Douglas Sirk and what you mentioned about Rock Hudson's character and overall message. Not enough arborists in films, if you ask me! I discovered The Trouble with Harry a couple of years ago and I subscribe every word. Not a horror fan but The Wolf Man, I must see. Satan's Little Helper is heavy on.the Fall Vibe. The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane Set during Fall, rains a lot tho. The Hollow (2004) Modern play on Sleepy Hollow, originally aired on ABC Family. Nice fall vibe throughout.

The past few years, I've tried watching The Trouble With Harry a couple times. Great looking movie, but I kinda lose interest by the last third. Also, glad to see you mentioning All That Heaven Allows, that was one of my first thoughts as well - but I like the 2002 homage Far From Heaven even better. The autumn colors on that one are even more gorgeous than The Trouble With Harry.

My personal opinion is to truly appreciate the Tim Burton Sleepy Hollow you need to know and love Hammer Horror movies because of the strong Hammer vibes. Also, if Beetlejuice and Heathers can become a musical then so can Arsenic And Old Lace! Someone make this happen but don't let Webber do it!
