@@dashingtherouxthesnow4017 this is such a step up. that 6N win was built off of a fantastic kick chase (which anyone can do, just needs commitment) against an arrogant team that didn't kick the points ,and dogged defence. but here, they're showing lovely handling and an ability to score from anywhere within the opposition half, plus defence is still improving. maybe the dream of the 6N champion losing two games, and everyone still chasing the title on super saturday, isn't that far off????

Well, I don't know about that. This year has seen contradictory results. Wins against Wales and Australia. A horrific defeat against Georgia, and an even more horrific last minute one point undeserved victory against Portugal. We shall see, I guess.

Their current form only began to take shape in this year's Six Nations, and that makes today's performance and also last week's game against Samoa all the more impressive. It's been THAT quick. Also important to remember all the work done by previous generations and coaches to get to this point, I remember listening to people like Nick Mallett talking about laying the groundwork at grass roots levels so that young players can come through and shine in the future, what 10 years ago? This form appears to have come out of nowehere and been quick, sure, but the foundations to get here have taken years. And then imagine if Parisse was in his prime and in this team, wow!

I feel like Crowley has finally committed to a style that might be a little "extreme" but that fits our most talented player. On top of this the win against Wales gave the team a lot of confidence and the past 2 games have shown it.

As an Irish fan, just want to say a huge congratulations to Italy. That win over Wales earlier this year I think has been a turning point in Italian rugby and to beat Australia today is more history made. The u20s have been going strong the last few years too so feel like Italy will win a couple of games next year. I worry for Ireland having to travel to Rome. Congratulations Azzuri, well deserved!

And if Garbisi had been there It would have been a comfortable win with a safe margin. I think it is in the spirit of a team vs a kind of equal team. Though, you know, scottish rugby is really more well respected than italian rugby, imho...until the past week at least, ahah. This is probably the best match I've seen from an Italian rugby fan point of view. We've seen a lot of misery and totally rightful criticism on us and our rugby movement as a whole. This time we didn't win only because it was a bad day for the opposing team, we did win because we were aggressive on defense, and sharp on offense as I've never seen before. This Italian young team, and the under 20 and 18 beneath them, might be special for the first time in our history, I really hope so. Youth was also probably the reason why we conceded some penalties or missed some good opportunities to make the win not dependent on an Australian mistake on the last kick. Thank you guys, make us proud, we need that!
