Getting down to cation exchange! Good gardening science. If you want a good dive into this that is more than layman level but not quite PhD level, Steve Solomon's book "The Intelligent Gardener: Growing Nutrient-Dense Food" is a good one. It also comes with a lot of practical help, worksheets and tools. I appreciate your channel, good work!

My Rev bottle is 3/4 empty -- I think this stuff must work! I've been lightly dosing my seedlings with a conservative amount of water and Rev when the tops seem dry, and have experienced a higher-than-usual rate of survival. In fact, the seedlings appear to actually want to live. I use a cheap ketchup squeeze bottle to control the water flow. I have also used Rev for plants that appear to beg to die and believe it's brought them back from the edge to live another day. Appreciate your endorsement. I will be ordering more....

Yes! I would like to hear your take on plant/leaf issues, like turning yellow or shot through with holes, and losing vigor. Signs of fungal or bacterial issues, pests, a pH or nutrient issue, etc. I realize this is an exhaustive category, but perhaps a little at a time? Thanks again!

Humic acid can also do wonders for our own microbiome. I take a fulvic and humic acid combo internally for gut health. I especially use it when I eat out to help clear out any glyphosate (an herbicide that is common in conventional foods and was originally patented as an antibiotic) that I may have ingested. So glad to see that you compost also. Great for soil health and a good way to break down garden refuse instead of paying to have it picked up!

Hello Rachel, I really loved this video I am very intrigued by the science of it all. Having seen James Prigioni's channel where he is always using the Mycorrhizal Fungi all the time as well as the Real Food Comes Dirty channel, Audrey is also a giant proponent. This video introduced me to the Humic Acid after listening to you. I did some research reading and seeing the benefit of humic acid on rebuilding soil health long term. The action of bringing the nutrients to the plant root ball area using the ionic charges. So my rather limited information right now makes me wonder if the product REV would also connect with and work with the Mycorrhizal Fungi in the soil matrix and help build the connections that could make each other work or perform better? This is all I know in this short amount of time but if each type of product might work toward bridging connecting the nutritional sharing ability of soil and plant I would like to try this out and see. Do you have any thoughts or ideas?

REV does have some beneficial fungi in it, but that's not the bulk of the microbes it contains. I wouldn't be surprised if it did also help work with mycorrhizal fungi though. All these things are connected.

The pile of woody stems can become greatly improved by walking on them. When the plant material dries out it will break up well. It will seem impossible at first and suddenly you will notice the pile has greatly reduced in size. Do this whenever you find time. Wear heavy boots and jeans to protect yourself. Then use a potato fork to pull the longer pieces into a pile and repeat. You will end up with a nice pile of mulch. That is how I get rid of vines, roses, and blackberry canes. The pile is nice for those bunnies until you finish it off. The cats will keep out other vermin.

Congrats on your first affiliate. Is that the famous Oxheart carrot at 4:21? Interesting product, Rev. Some studies have shown Bokashi leacheate, not super high in NPK, is actually rich in humic acid. Would be a nice comparison to try both side by side.

Thank you :) It could be the oxheart carrot, because I did plant some, but I mixed all the seeds together so it's hard to tell.
