Garden Talk with Mr. Grow It

Күн бұрын

In this episode of Garden Talk, I interview Tim McCormick. He has been gardening for 12 years and is the Owner of Cultured Biologix - a company that formulates and manufactures an organic product line. Tim has an extensive background in horticulture - chemistry, microbiology, plant physiology, soil science, entomology, and plant pathology. This is actually Tim’s second time on the podcast; he was on episode 41 where he talked all about bro science vs grow science. In this episode he talks all about increasing the flavor that plants produce. There are various things that you can do to the plants when growing them that can increase the flavor profile - Tim gets into all of that. What plants do you like to grow? Peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, house plants, citrus trees, basil, kale, bok choy, let us know in the comments section below. If you enjoyed this video please click that thumbs up button :)

You know what would be great, im sure you already heard about people saying curing is not good for your product, even ed rosenthal isnt a fan of curing from what i know It would be great if you would get 2 guests on with opposite stances to topics like that or about whatever and try to get to "the bottom" of things Sure you can make it many ways and there is no definitive answer, but such debates with facts where people disagree with each other and bring science and facts and expirience into it would be great for me to watch

Great job yet again, Mr. Grow It! One of my favorite things about your show is that you’re an intelligent and thoughtful interviewer, Chris, and I suspect this has a lot to do with the fact that you’re a home grower yourself, and so you ask pointed questions that are relevant to the rest of us. Furthermore, you’re always quick to clear up terminology and concepts which might be unfamiliar to the general audience, and this refusal to engage in grow jargon as a means of self-aggrandizement shows you to be a true educator and humble lifelong student. Thanks again for all the priceless knowledge!

Hello, I don't normally comment But At the end of this video the man said that you definetly don't want to use plastic bags. Having grown cannabis for over 40 years, I used to agree that glass is the best storage vessel until Grove Bags sent me some samples after I showed them 12 ft. plants in my back yard. Their Terploc Bags are fricken incredible. The buds from last years grow actually smell better than they did when I put them in 10 months ago. If I was you, I would approach them and you'l probably get samples for free since you have a large following. I don't work for them but I do appreciate what they did for the cannabis industry. If you already know about or use them, then god Bless and good growing :)

I use Grove bags. But still smell their plastic. They seem to work to keep the RH close to bagged RH. Guess it's just my sensitive nose😮
@WSAGenetics
@WSAGenetics 8 сағат бұрын
@@JW-lq9ow I also don't understand why people want to move away from glass and make the cure "less work". If you are burping the hell out of your jars to keep the RH within the jar down, you didnt have a good dry. If your RH is to low, you didnt have a good dry. Fix your drying process and burping becomes not so much about moisture/rh, you are just doing it more often early on to release Co2 and replace with fresh "air". More to it than that but.... 1 gallon glass jars are my go to. I would love if grove bags were cheaper as I think they would be great for storage to the friends I gift too so they do not need to monitor RH for storing the amounts I give them.

I’m doing well now. There are times in life when you’re going to have to deal with some difficult situations, get work done or help others. However you have to remember to take a step back. We can’t stay in the trenches forever....And please remember that it’s always easier to see somebody else going through it, Then it is to accept or realize that it’s happening to you. There is a time and place for everything. And that doesn’t just include dealing with life‘s difficulties. sometimes you just need to let your inner kid self come out, and just do what you wanna do.

@ryanb6614 There was a small study done on flushing and while not ratified or peer analyzed the synthetic grown non flushed weed smoked better in a blind taste test... Organics are great for ease of entry into the game, all you have to do is amend and give phed water, but I've smoked alot and all the best flower I've smoked has been salt fed recently, and alot of flavor is strictly genetic/ environmental

For indoor my terroir is my soil or coco of choice; that’s what I learned & organic inputs will give better tasting crops as well as nitrates base fertz will give increased yields💯👍🏿👍🏿

Watched yesterday. Let me tell you: Tim gave a very solid explanation on why organically grown plants would produce superior secondary metabolites AKA terpenes over salt based/hydroponically grown plants. The whole topic was very revealing and although I have pondered the question given my use of both L. soil and aeroponic methodologies, my speculations were fed a fair amount of good data to inspire me to "let go" of synthetics. Wowser is all I can say. Thanks Chris.

It's incorrect though. The very obvious perceivable difference is sugar content, acid profile, and lipid/carboxylic acid profile. The terpenes that potheads talk about are on legit breeding operations for one reason: They are flaws. Myrcene/terpinolene/etc is not getting you higher, making your weed dank, or making your weed taste like anything.. Carboxylic acids and saccharides are.

All fertelizers are organic. Organic by definition means containing carbon atoms, basic high school chemistry. Organic label is a marketing ploy to charge more $. I've had great results using cheap miracle grow knockoff in veg period then switching to tomato fertelizer for flower stage.

I always plant basil together with my other plants, i did this long before any early research suggested that it might increase terpene production on neighbouring plants. Nature is the answer, monocultures would never survive without the farmers...

Great Job! Tim has the same mannerisms, body language, & talks like a young Elon Musk. Really enjoyed this interview.
