Auxiliary Battery! Stop don’t remove the fuse box or fender! Watch this!

There is a leasier way to change the batteries you can replace the main battery from the top. If you take out a 10mm bolt a top of the passenger inner fender well and two clip pins at the bottom of that fender you can push it around to the tire if you have aftermarket fender liners then just take the passenger side out. The battery box will be right there and it’s held in by 3, 10mm bolts. Drop those three bolts the whole box and battery come straight down. On top of the battery there are 2, 10mm bolts one for the negative and one for the positive terminal, tilt it toward the front of the jeep and you can easily gain access to the terminals then the battery and box come down. Put the new battery in reverse the whole process of putting it back in. A lot quicker and easier in my opinion than pulling the fuse panel or the entire fender and inner, hope this helped out. That saved me because the Jeep wouldn’t start and it was a few days before I could get the batteries so I just used the jumpstart to start the truck to go back-and-forth to work for a few days so I highly recommend that you have a jumpstart in your vehicle at all times so you’re not left stranded with a dead battery. Side note it will even charge your iPhone never know when you might need to post a video.

Ahh Good video. Beat me to filming my own. Never understood people tearing out this and that in there videos to get at that battery. Those inner liners are so flimsy all they had to do was fold it out of the way!

If you remove the aux battery then connect the positive from the aux to the positive on the main battery and tie the ground up out of the way you wont need the aux battery anymore. I removed the aux battery 4 years ago.

Are those push pins on the bottom connecting the liner to the jeep or rivets?

They are holding the liner to a plastic piece that gives the outer fender it’s rigidity at the bottom. Not rivets.

A lot of people had talked about either removing the whole fender or the entire fuse box to get to the auxiliary battery. I just wanted to show a different way that you could access the battery, by just unbolting part of the inner fender because mine is the stock plastic one you just bend it out-of-the-way, and you have access to the auxiliary battery

Now just throw the battery out and take the positive cable and run it to the main battery. Pull fuse 42. Now you never have to worry about it again.
