Auxiliary Table for the PantoRouter™

3:32 I made the fence of the same 3/4” material as the base. I used the PantoRouter to cut a 1/4” deep, 3/4” wide groove in the fence. Then glued the base into the groove, clamping it at right-angles while the glue set. I found there was no need for nails or screws. No risk to router bits!

That works. We used ½" to give an additional ¼" depth of cut, but either would be fine for most operations.

Great video Mac. I like the fact that I can go to your videos while I am in the shop and watch them while I make the jigs. Thanks for new ideas that makes the panto router a fantastic and fun tool.

I saved some offcuts from the base 3/4” material. Two 4” square pieces glued together form a set-up block to be used in the Template Holder Thickness Gauge. This set-up block by itself brings the centreline of the router up level with the base of the Auxiliary Table. You can then place the usual cutoff or workpiece [How-To Guide page 5] on the set-up block to bring the router bit up to the desired height. This worked a treat for me when I needed to machine a groove along the middle of the bottom edge of a door.
