There's a new button in the top left of the EHSD while in AG mode, that lets you set the laser code without having to bring up the DMT. Got added a couple of updates ago.

@@Catinthehackmatrix I meant the TPOD laser code, not the APKWS laser code. As Cap explained the APKWS code can only be set on the ground using the kneeboard. AFAIK the issue is that those rocket pods weren't designed to let their contents talk to the aircraft, they were designed for dumb rockets, so the ground crew has to set the codes.

Can the laser overheat? I thought I have experienced this in the Hornet but not sure.

The laser in the Hornet turns off after the target is hit (tti+ a few seconds), but can stay on all day long in the harrier. No idea if it's supposed to be or not, but it can. See you in the air!

as you cant carry 28 maverics, this looks like a very good alternative for a number of targets

They are very similar to the Laser Guided Rockets in the Jeff and those things might actually be a bit OP lol You can put 16 on each wing in the Jeff and its basically 1 hit kills for anything up to a main battle tank and enough splash damage to get multiple kills in a column of infantry

I really need some help with the Harrier after the update the aircraft is an absolute nightmare to taxi i need 80 Degrees of nozzle just to stop forward momentum from standstill and then even on park brakes it is jumping and stuttering forward and to the left. I have tried to fresh installs of both stable and beta and also removed my LUA bindings and options...it was all good before the update but nobody else seems to be having this issue to this extent. If anybody can help me sort this out out i will be very grateful as i just cannot use it as it is. My FA18/UH-1H/F14 are all functioning correctly.

If you rotate the nozzles down you can't fire the laser guided rockets. It works only when nozzles are in zero position. Is that correct?

Anybody know if it’s possible to adjust gain, contrast or brightness etc. I literally cannot see anything to slew onto as my display is almost black? EDIT Figured it out, it’s currently bugged. I went into the special options & adjusted gain & brightness from there.

How do you designate markpoints with the targeting pod? I thought you could only do this with DMT?

I don't know if these rockets are as powerful as you say. From my usage they can't do anything to a tank. Literally zero damage. I guess they're bugged?

I cant get GCIP to come up, does the laser code have to be set on the ground for the WPN but airborne for the TPOD. With Mavs i get airborne, set the code and they lock fine but i cant get any sort of lock for the rockets. If so do i have to start with my engine off?

You need to set the rocket code with your engine off, but the tpod code when in the air. Those rockets don't require a lock like the mavericks, they just follow the laser.

They don't lock, they chase the spot like a paveway. As far as the aircraft is concerned its a hydra pod.

@Cap: Great info as usual, thx!! I wonder how long it usually takes to get that into the Release version? I wasn't even aware of APKWS in DCS - don't have the A-10C - but that looks like a fantastic multiplier. Mavericks or LGBs are overkill vs. tanks, and too heavy...

Bear in mind you won't get one or even two shot kills on newer tanks, needs about 5 right on the engine block

Technically they are missels. But it's a guidance package on the 2.75MM unguided rocket. There pretty new, and came about due to the need for really close support of troops in contact in the middle east. I think they called it a rocket just to not scare the brass to much. "Hey your not getting a new missile, just an upgrade to your old rockets".

Thanks for the nice tutorial. Nice rockets but i just have the feeling that when not in an active pause, it would be a lot quicker and not to mention easier to just use CCIP targeting, despite a loss of accuracy as opposed to be sitting heads down trying to find a target with the slew keys?
