I did not know she put her film research online. Great idea. Knowledge should be easily exchanged and not guarded and protected. As they discuss how this information would form an excellent class, I thought this would be a great content for an online class with Great Courses. Great Courses are designed for college level deep dive learning, but without tests and grades, etc. it is like an unlimited audit of all things interesting to you.

Her ben and jerrys ice cream is honestly the best! I don't read too often so I haven't read Caste but I saw this movie and it made me so much more enraged at how society thinks it should be... makes you really think. All her movies make me cry because the subject is usually important. She's so underrated for her work. Her doing the research through her art is why I respect her.

I was back ground for a few days on this movie, and she was a wonderful director. She treats bg like they are important, which doesn’t happen very often, at least in my experience. I thought the movie was very good, and I learned a lot that I didn’t know.

I constantly buy the non-dairy version of Ava DuVernay's *Lights! Caramel! Action!* It is SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's dangerous though because no matter how little you plan to eat, you'll always eat three times more than you planned. Yes, it is THAT delicious!!

Ava is a true SHERO. And it's very cool the bookstore cafe near Howard named her sandwich... But I am even more impressed she created her ice cream flavor with Ben and Jerry's!

I did a directive research project on the Caste System 10 months ago for my undergrad. One of the 23 literatures used was Isabelle Wilkerson's book. The Caste System is still alive today in The Americas and it is destroying the melanated community more than any other. I understand that this is being seeing as "History". Yes, the historical context is crucial to know; Who, Why, What, Where, and How. However, seeing this system as "History" runs the danger of seeing this as a thing of the past and not see it has a thing still cancerous in our present. I did a Live recording 10 months ago of my project that is accessible on OpaHopeDay KZbin channel. I invite you to take a look. I look forward to seeing this film and viewing the research guide that is mentioned.

its hard not to watch Origin as a biographical film about the author. The film is absolutely beautiful and of course AET crushed the role. Well done on this film.
