A true Hollywood legend. The fact she made Frank Sinatra cry so many times and he loved her until her death fascinates me. She was a civil rights advocate too and supported Black artists in Hollywood. A true southern lady that lived all around the world. I own 3 biographies about her amazing life.

Hey Jordan Ava’s grave is like 5 minutes from my house. I wish I knew you were coming it would have been a honor to meet you. Me and my wife have been watching your channel since day one. We also have some pictures of Ava real pictures that was given to us from her. We hope you enjoyed your visit to Smithfield and you should check some of the historic places in Raleigh. Take care and safe travels and be careful on interstate 95 people don’t know how to drive on that interstate. Interstate 40 is a lot safer lol. Take care.

Hi Jordan, one of my friends was friends with Ava Gardner in the 1970's. It's so nice to see so many original film costumes on display and not in private collections. The one's from 'Barefoot Contessa' and 'Showboat' were so ornate. Wow, she had a real lavish London Apartment, so nice that they have some of her personal items. I wish more Museums would be dedicated to old Hollywood stars, the items was fantastic. Great vlog Jordan.

Hello! I live just a few miles from Smithfield, NC! I’m an NC native. All North Carolinians love Ava and are extremely proud of her. That’s why there is a museum and the cemetery has the signs pointing to her grave. (We do things a little differently here in the south. ) My hometown is Wilmington, NC. If you ever want to come back and see some sights where numerous movies (Sleeping with the Enemy; I Know What You did Last Summer, etc.) and TV shows (Dawson’s Creek, for ex.) were filmed, or see the location where Brandon Lee was shot and the hospital he was taken to, I’d be happy to show you. I can also take you to some Michael Jordan locations. When I was in 8th grade, Drew Barrymore lived a few doors down from our house for several months. She was in town filming Firestarter and Cats Eye. She was younger than me but my little sister played with her all the time. Drew has said many times that Wilmington was the first place that ever felt like home to her. NC has a rich history with Hollywood. Someday you’ll have to check out Mount Airy, home of Andy Griffith! I love your channel! Keep up the good work. 👍

@@faulltw Regarding a great book on Ava: Mearene Jordan had written a slim book on Ava. Ms. Jordan was an assistant, longtime friend and confidant from the beginning of Ava’s years of stardom. I prefer her book to others, because Ms.Jordan was right there, and told things in a direct way about the story of her close friend, Ava. I hope that you enjoy as I have, ♥️

Ava and Howard Hughes were both born on Christmas Eve. Hughes was considerably older than Ava. He was born in 1905 and had his detectives chase quite a few women for him. What an eccentric! Frank Sinatra was a December baby, too - born December 12th, ten years younger than Hughes and tons hotter to Ava. Ava's magnetic charms were like honey to a bee, if bees, (beyond the drones,) were men. Ava Gardner was fascinating in so many ways, from her lovelife to her incredible screen presence, her beauty and her adventurous spirit. She was a born rebel who didn't hestitate to live as she saw fit, nobody's fool. Thank you so very much, Lion Man, for bringing her museum to life here and for all that you've said. I love Ava. She's been an inspiration to me, especially since we share the same birthday and a lot more, better left unmentioned. ❤🎉❤

Ava was born on Dec 24, 1922 (and we are celebrating her 100th birthday at the Ava Gardner Museum this year.) The family Bible has the wrong year, but we assume that with the excitement of a newborn baby and the holidays, no one entered her birthdate until after the new year started and they mistakenly wrote in the incorrect date of 1923. We have her birth certificate, so we know for sure when she was born.

Thank you for visiting the Ava Gardner museum for us. I first saw her in the disaster flick 'Earthquake' in the 1970s. I also saw her in 'A.D.' with the late, great Colleen Dewhurst. But 'A.D.' was not the film she worked with George C. Scott, although he was married twice to Dewhurst. She co-starred with Scott in 1966s 'The Bible.' After checking out her filmography, I definitely want to see a few of her other films, including 'The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean' from the early 1970s where she had a small role as 'Lili Langtrey' along with a young Jacqueline Bisset. 'The Blue Bird,' also from the early 70s featured her, Elizabeth Taylor, Jane Fonda, Cicely Tyson and Will Geer (the Grandfather on 'The Waltons'), looks like quite an interesting film, if it can be found. But thanks again for covering Ava's life and career!

It was one of Ava’s best movie which she did with Stewart Granger. I had the pleasure of meeting Stewart Granger and had a long chat with him. He said to me that Ava was the most beautiful lady in the world and especially when she wore a saree (Indian dress) which she wore in that movie. I grew up at the corner of Valley Vista and Colbath in Sherman Oaks, California. Valley Vista was a very nice street that I took to walk to Dixie Canyon Ave. Elementry school. At some point someone told me that Ava Gardner once lived in a house right there on Valley vista, a house you could walk right up to from the street that had a hill to the other side of it and I have always wondered if that was true? I wonder if I could look up information as to all the residences of Ava Gardner?
