Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups Poha
1 1/2 tbsp oil
1 teaspoon Chana Dal
1 teaspoon Urad Dal
2 tbsp peanuts
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
A pinch of Hing (asafoetida)
3 sticks Curry leaves
2 slit green chilies
1 medium-sized sliced onion
Salt to taste
Recipe:
Preparing Poha:
Wash 1 1/2 cups of Poha 2 to 3 times with water until it becomes soft and mushy. Drain the water and set aside.
Tempering:
In a pan, add 1 1/2 tbsp of oil. Once heated, add 1 teaspoon of Chana Dal, 1 teaspoon of Urad Dal, and 2 tbsp of peanuts. Fry for 2 minutes until golden.
Adding Spices:
To the mixture, add 1/2 teaspoon of cumin seeds, 1/4 teaspoon of mustard seeds, and a pinch of Hing. Mix well and cook for another 1 minutes.
Add three sticks of Curry leaves, two slit green chilies, and one medium-sized sliced onion. Mix and cook for 3 minutes until onions turn slightly golden.
Combining with Poha:
Add the washed Poha to the mixture. Season with salt to taste. Gently mix everything together.
Cooking Poha:
Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for 3 minutes on low flame.
Serve:
Remove the lid. Your delicious Poha is now ready to be served!
