+MagzTV The Diamond are fantastic! made right in Canada, and a fully composite aircraft. The engines are diesel too, and get fantastic fuel consumption. Because it's very light, it has a great glide ratio as well. I'm actually an aircraft mechanic who has worked on one of these, as well as the single engine eclipse model, so if you have questions, I'd love to answer them.

It always surprises me how slow WW1 Biplanes are. I mean, look how close and slowly they fly! You could spit at each other! Also, it's very nice to see the native flag flown at airshows and painted on Straya planes~ It'd also be great if Gaijin would add unique sounds to each jet/plane like they make irl (meteor for example)

I love this. I wish I could go to one. The only "Air Show" I've been to was on the 4th of July a few years back. It wasn't even really an air show. Just a few F-18's doing a fly by

+totoritko Are those the ones that can be fitted with aviation turbo-diesel powerplants?
@totoritko9 жыл бұрын
Locspocs2 Yep. See www.diamondaircraft.com/aircraft/da42/specs_da42_tdi.php Diesel pros: longer range, less fuel burn, can take Jet-A (avgas is sometimes harder to come by at larger airports). Cons: either a lot less power for same load capability, or a little less power for a lot less load carrying capability. In short, diesel pistons have better economy than avgas pistons, but are heavier and less powerful.

I love the noise difference between the 3 jets. Each had a distinctive noise, meteor sounded almost like a prop, Sabre sounded well; like a jet, and the what I am guessing was an F15 had the new modern scream.

Man this makes me sad for not going to this years air show here in Texas because a MiG-15 was there :D I still prefer the F-86's aesthetics though, and if im correct the CAC sabre had 2 30mm cannons (which is awesome). your boy sounded like he was having a blast Magz. How old is he now a days? My oldest at 19 is on his way back from Atlanta after attending the Dragon*Con media/gaming/comic convention over the USA's labor day weekend. Very cool updates on the crowd funded and record breaking Star Citizen PC game project (are you following that one also?). My youngest is almost 13 now and both are into aerospace and science as much as their father. Last stop I need to make with then soon is the new super large hangar display for the Smithsonian'a Air and Space at the Dulles airport. Thats where the Space Shuttle and the B52 are housed. GOT TO SEE! :)

+Pez Pezzer At this airshow my oldest boy was 4. My youngest was still in production :P. I am following SC as it develops but I'm staying clear until there is a working game to be played. @pezz_pezzer9 жыл бұрын
truth, still not much going on till the end of the year or later with SC so I dont blame ya' there... Just recently did they fix the broken joystick controls so I would advise most folks to wait till it's closer to coming out to judge. Very good to hear on your boy/boys (you sure both are sons already?) and yes if you do make it this far, WAY to far for this guy to fly, but if you do the DC area is worth a visit. Plus if you time it the air shows at Andrews are amazing of course. Mom has been out your way a few times and a good mate of mine moved back to NSW somewhere (suburb of Sydney maybe?). If you do come out holler and I'll see if I can "pull some favors" and get you a media or VIP visit to the museums and Andrews AFB. :) soooo worth it!

always found Australia's army a tad confusing, well, in recent times that is. You go for an Austrian assault rifle (fair enough, one of the few nations to ever seriously consider the Steyr AUG as a credible battlefield squaddie's rifle), Canadian LAAVs, opt to replace your German Leopard 1s for Abrams at the same time you opt for a Franco-German helicopter gunship XD Just find the selection process a bit scattershot in that regard XD
