We facilitated this film to support a first time filmmaker. It was made by a group of friends who got together to have a fun time paying tribute to Star Trek. It’s not tying to “Push an agenda” on anyone. No one will be more critical of a film than the filmmaker. No one will be more critical of the acting than the actors. My only ask is that you watch it though that lens. PLEASE NOTE Misogynistic, Transphobic, or any other RUDE comments will be deleted.

First to the Avalon folks, thank you for working with the first time film filmmaker and their group of friends . They did a great job and I bet learned a ton about filmmaking. I am very interested in a sequel to find out how the Gorn DNA spread or was planted. Lots more to tell with that storyline and characters. More, please. 🙂 Also, I like the supposedly the use of a "training" crew on 1701 to, while not bringing in any Pike/Kirk crew, be able to fly 1701 instead of another ship. Very nice.

Okay guys, don't get me wrong. Nice episode, good work on the effects. Now, the elephant in the room: Avalon, we are all anxiously awaiting the return of Captain Mason, and Victoria Archer. "The once and future captain" was eluded to being in 2024. um, 2024 is almost over.....and no offense, but Cap Mason is by far my fave of your universe, please please don't kill him off , and of course, "Warp Core Killer" Archer as well. I think that dude finally deserves a ship of his own [ I also miss the frizzy haired Aussie 1st officer though and wish they'd end up in the same universe :) ] .

Captain, bruh... *Never* use the word "routine". Loved seeing my boys Tyler and Greg, and the lady Mason from "Crisis on Infinite Excaliburs" -- also loved that her character had the same last name as me! excellent production values. amazing sets and CGI, and above all decent lighting! a solid ST fan effort. My only critique was that the commander's uniform seemed poorly fitted to that actress for the first half of the film; it was a bit distracting. In terms of story, it's nice to have a story with no pew-pew. It wasn't a combat story, as so many are. It did (intentionally or unintentionally) point out the actual horror of the transporter, which is that the person going into the beam is not the same person coming out. The Lt. Moore that was re-integrated at the end was not the person who underwent the Gorn transformation. That person was disintegrated, was gone, as evidenced by the line, "This Lt. Moore might not remember anything from that time. The pattern I used to restore her was from when she beamed down from shore leave." Philosophically, this demonstrated what I've always said about the transporter; it's a murder machine. For being a quiet story, it's quite deep in the consequences of ST technology. A superior effort, and thank you!

A solid and relatively engaging effort. Kudos to the filmmaker with this being their first time. I have to admit I laughed pretty hard when security came into aux control with his phaser held in a semi side grip technique. Overall it was fun. The narrative could use some tinkering but it was fun plot, especially since Gorn are under utilized. It certainly left room open to explore their mindset as to how or why they might do this to a Starfleet officer. It's nice to see people still putting out original content with the actual spirit of Star Trek in mind rather than what we have currently on the live action side of the franchise. Well done to all involved.

Avalon chose an interesting storyline about transforming into something else. I honestly don't know if the parallels are intentional. On one hand it seems obvious that they are, but on the other I don't think Avalon would want to make a big deal of it. Unless part 2 is about how the crew make friends with the transformed Gorn and accept her new identity? Perhaps a stretch too far. All that aside, I want to say how great the production is. Was that drone shot of the landscape filmed specially or was it stock? It fitted in really well with the excellent location filming.
@joshuairwin20165 сағат бұрын
Thank you! We did use a drone at the location. Everyone hid under some trees haha.
@remaincalm255 минут бұрын
@@joshuairwin2016 😂 I'll have to look carefully now to see if I can spot anyone hiding. The location filming was seriously good. It makes TNG and TOS location scenes that were filmed in a studio look like a really low budget fan film, ironically.
