Avan Applause 600 Motorhome (Australia)

I made this short video as a personal reminder of the features as described by the salesman when I took delivery. I thought the info would be of use for everyone considering buying a motorhome, so I stuck it here online. I did not make the video with the intention of putting it onto KZbin so it is not slick and polished. Fiat Ducato Avan Applause 600 motorhome. Delivered brand new in April 2021. Driven around Queensland for 7 months and then on-sold to a chap from Melbourne.

Hi Stephen, great video you did on the Applause as it has helped us better understand the model... now we have just signed up for one and it seems they won't install a diesel heater. I wonder if you could perhaps give me a few photos of your heater installation both inside and outside? Thanks, David, Melbourne

Sorry David, I have since sold the motorhome. My installation was done by Golf SuperCentre before I purchased it, perhaps they could give you the name of the company that installed the heater. www.golfsupercentre.com.au/

Hi Stephen, thanks for the video. We’ve just signed up fo a new Avan Applause 500 without actually seeing one and it was great to have a good run through of your van. I notice that your van is a 600, but it certainly does look like the layout of a 500 - all the 600 vans we’ve seen have the two single beds. Did you order yours with a double bed, or do the new 600s now come with the double bed? Thanks again for posting. Cheers, Len

Hi, the 600 is slightly longer, otherwise identical. I did not order mine, it was in a caravan sales yard, a cancelled order at the last minute. I was rather fortunate to buy it instantly.

The screen door was an issue on earlier models - is it still problematic?

It would stick, until I sprayed silicon lubricant in the tracks, then never an issue again. The factory does not put lubricant on the tracks for some reason.

How do you empty the fresh water to clean it out ? Or when you finish using ?

There is a plastic tap below the van to drain the tank. There are products available to sterilise the tank for the next use.
