Avanti 805 on test, HST Power Cars for export & ECML Chaos 16/10/2023

Coverage from a day at Marholm which saw Avanti West Coast's 805003 on test, former Cross Country power cars 43184 & 43306 heading to Great Yarmouth for loading onto their Nigeria bound ship, Colas's 43251 & 43274 on the New Measurement Test Train and several freight trains.
Due to Holme level crossing failing, and a track defect near Huntingdon, a total job stop occurred early in the afternoon, with the inevitable backlog in both directions, leading to a rather congested Peterborough making for some very slow passes as trains queued up to be served. Sadly this also saw Grand Central's double Voyager cancelled at Retford and turned back to Wakefield.

A good long spell there with some interesting STP workings Chris. I would've been there with you for the first half had both Avanti 805 moves run, but instead had 90mins at Melton Mowbray to get the double HST PCs you did but also the quadruple HST PCs to Old Dalby. You got a lot more workings than I did though!

Well at least now I know what caused the chaos! Popped down to Werrington Junction to see the Cross Country HST's and noticed everything was running slowly and massively delayed. Still you had a good day.

66623 getting a bit of roots-blown sound to it there in that clip, the last of the HST's have sure been killed off quick. Nice one indeed Chris.

The HSTs have been refitted and are in service in Scotland.
