Avascular Necrosis Journey Core Decompression Pre-Op

My journey to how I found out I had Avascular Necrosis and my journey to Core Decompression Surgery. Avascular necrosis, also known as osteonecrosis, is a serious medical condition that occurs when there is a loss of blood supply to the bone. This can lead to the death of bone tissue and eventually the collapse of the affected joint. Avascular necrosis is most commonly found in the hip, although it can also occur in other bones such as the shoulder, knee, and ankle. Risk factors for avascular necrosis include alcohol abuse, steroid use, and certain medical conditions such as lupus and sickle cell anemia. Treatment options may include medication, physical therapy, and in severe cases, surgery. It is important to seek medical attention if you suspect you may be suffering from avascular necrosis in order to prevent further damage and preserve joint function.
