You know, I've had a lot of time to rethink the story behind the story. I was taken in as most everyone was by the Na'vi, by their simple life, their behavior toward their own, their respect for the world around them. And then that mountainside scene, where the Recom scientists and Sully were restrained as though awaiting execution or crucifixion. And I realized...they possess the same ability and willingness toward brutality that all sentient species do, even toward their own. And I learned humans weren't there just for money...they were there for the value of that mineral which might keep all human society from collapse, which had burgeoned to tens of billions in the story's timeline. A few tens of thousands or maybe a million Na'vi, were bargained with, negotiated with, treatied with, in hopes to access that humanity-saving resource, while who knows how many human lives were extinguished on our world/s, waiting and hoping and trusting in a magnanimous granting of passage by the Na'vi which never happened. I'm glad I never saw the 2nd film. I'd only be able to cheer for the victory of humanity, and would see every thread of that movie as propaganda against our modern-day, and against all human progress.
