"You cannot master lightning, until you have dealt with the turmoil inside yourself." Later, in season 3, he confronts his father, finally chooses good, and decides to join the Avatar. And right after that... He deflects lightning. HOW HAVE I NEVER NOTICED THIS?!
@MellanClear6 жыл бұрын
well, that's not technically true... Iroh's comment on "mastering lightning" has to do with Zuko's inability to CREATE lightning. And then, since Zuko couldn't create lightning, Iroh taught him to redirect it instead. When confronting his father, he didn't create lightning, he redirected it like Iroh taught him... But it still works wonderfully on a symbolic level : Zuko is capable of tking his father's aggressive behaviour and redirect it back at him thanks to Iroh's teachings :')

One of my favorite songs and my favorite show, together,, this is more than I've ever deserved. Your amvs are always so masterfully done, and I just love this one so much... I always get immense goosebumps at the part where Aang talks about closure and letting your anger out and the song reaches it's climax,, simply beautiful, I can't help but watch this video multiple times every time I click on it

Your tributes to A:TLA characters are unmatched on KZbin. They are always strikingly beautiful, deeply emotional and exhilarating to watch. Especially because of your effective use of quotes which make the scenes that are shown all the more impactful. I wanted to suggest to you an essay I found on tumblr which I think you might find interesting: loopy777.tumblr.com/post/75099047828/essay-the-two-ursas It pretty much explains how the Ursa in the series and the Ursa in the comics are essentially two completely different characters. I immediately remembered our discussion about Ursa and the Fire Nation Royal Family when I read it. As I mentioned to you before, I try not to let the comics' poor writing and blatant mischaracterization of the main characters affect my opinion of them, since they are extremely different in the comics than they are in the series. I've attempted to do the same for Ursa and Ozai (because they are the most notable supporting characters which Yang totally butchered in the comics). Anyway, my opinion of series Ursa is that she is a strong, flawed and complicated character (much like the rest of her family members) who has great potential that, under a good writer, can be fascinating to read and explore. She isn't a good parent to Azula, but I can respect her as a character. Primarily, I'd like to know more about her, her relationship with Ozai and what really happened to her after her banishment. Comics Ursa is a pathetic, helpless victim, a twisted shadow of series Ursa, with zero agency or depth whose every wrongdoing is excused and who is never held accountable for the bad things she does. I'm only glad that Yang will no longer be writing her as I sincerely doubt anyone can do a worse job than he did. Also, here's a screenshot of Ursa's description on Nickelodeon's former site, which was established during the series' original run, long before the comics ever came out: 66.media.tumblr.com/0e534082e9cd321625184f149001c544/tumblr_oo9qfbQL0w1r7g34go1_1280.png Note how it says that Ursa is of noble birth and not some poor girl from a random village that just so happened to have Roku's blood. The former Nickelodeon's site I mentioned was backed up and rebuilt by a very dedicated A:TLA fan and can be found here: atla-lore-archive.tumblr.com There's a lot of interesting and cool things there and a ton of stuff on the site is contradicted by Yang's lazy writing. He clearly doesn't even know of the site's existence.

Gawd I just want a continuation of the show. I want to know if toph reconciled with her parents, I want to know if azula ever found peace and reconciled with may, tai lee and her mother. I want to see how the world has to be taught to forgive the fire nation after 100 years of war and suffering. So many things that would make an incredible series with the original cast.

you should do a atla edit with the song Forest fire, i think is so accurate and beautiful how you can interpret the the lyrics of the song according to the great losses or deaths of the series (the genocide of the air nomads, the death of the mother of katara and the son of iroh, when appa was captured, the whole subject of the family of toph and zuko, etc)
@sofiapirela58765 жыл бұрын
also the death of yue and the storyline of zuko´s mother

Do you think you'll ever make legend of Korra videos? I'd especially love to see videos for Korra's journey and Tenzin's character arc. I think they're both phenomenal. Or even a video about the role of the Avatar that shows how Aang and Korra's characters start out as complete opposites, and must learn different lessons to eventually both end up as fully realized avatars.
