I love that you never quite know what you are going to get with a new Avatar song, but 98% of the time it's amazingly fresh! This is about as damn catchy as it gets! And damn, that Tim solo with Jonas' riff behind it! Wow! Just great song writing! I like to look at Avatar as much more than a heavy band capable of just smashing out bangers like Hail or Colossus. I love that they try different styles and if that style is little "light" for you, I get it, but I really think it shows how diverse they are. Personally, I like albums that have a flow to them, but change the styles up a bit so it's not like the same song or style over and over. Avatar always delivers on that and they are really growing as musicians as well.

Yes very well said. I would just add/reiterate that even though I might say “oh c’mon guys, what the hell you thinking’?” To me, just about all of those Avatar songs that branch well off their core path still Work, it might not work for me, but I can hear that they got to where they were going for, and that points to their phenomenal songwriting ability….which as long as they keep gifting us with these songs that affects us in a powerful and positive way, I say keep on branching out boys, because what you come back with is just great music, meticulously written, and needs no labels. This is Avatar, and this is just what they do.

These guys have pushed metal into directions 10 other bands combined can't. They're one of, if not, the most accessible way into metal. Their ability incorporate genres that shouldn't work into the metal ecosystem, and do it flawlessly blows me away. And they're all so genuinely talented on top of it. They've been in my radar for about 6 years, but I go through these periods where I "forget" about them (I'm not a metal guy anymore). As much as that sucks, rediscovering them time and time again is such a treat. For a metal band to make it into my top 10 fav bands in general speaks to their abilities. So glad to see you guys still making fantastic music! From now on, I'm here for it.
