Katara was really in her bag with the bending this episode lmao. "Time is an illusion" is a good nugget. If you haven't seen by now, Sokka tends to internalize a lot of his emotions. He doesn't want to come off as weak as the leader which is why he was trying to be logical in this episode. He's still sort of dealing with that emotional blow of losing Yue.

The fact that they thought the swamp people were the ones who called them there shows that the swamp was actually alive and that it had mysterious wonders. And it has spiritual energy. And it didn't call them there to hurt them but to teach them. And you'd think twice before trying to destroy that swamp

Who do you think the girl in the white dress is? ..."Aang's future girl, obviously" xD But eriously though, the visions part for Katara and Sokka was a bit heartbreaking. With Katara, you can see just how her mother's death is still affecting her...those happy tears man. With Sokka, you can see just how much he thinks of Yue and most likely the guilt of not being able to protect her. Katara with the waterbending this episode was also amazing!Especially when she started the water slicing!! Blue Spirit is back!!

Ok so some notes: 1 there are and have to be some mystical properties about the swamp I mean we saw the vines and branches hit the bird and the tornado as well as it calling to aang in the beginning. 2 sokka will deny things because he is a logical thinker. I mean he even called water bending shiv in the first episode. He said aang couldn’t fly didnt believe in the reincarnation past lives thing for the avatar cycle when they were at the temple so I’m not surprised that he acts this way in the swamp when other worldly things are happening. Tho I don’t understand why he doesn’t it’s like he doesn’t remember being kidnapped by the panda spirit or seeing that fish spirit attack everything at the North Pole. I like to also point out that all that got shot down when he saw yue in the swamp light. 3 I like how katara is improving with her water bending techniques using the wise water tings water whips and everything. 4 notice that the girl had a flying pig with her that is VERY important. When pigs fly is to be associated with things that are IMPOSSIBLE! 5 the water benders in the swamp bend the water in the vines like another style of water bending. 6 zuko and his uncle are both living a life of poverty and while zuko grows angry at the fact a prince could be living like that iroh makes the most of it and even sings and compliments people. Even at the point where that man was embarrassing iroh he looked at the upside at getting a gold coin compared to zuko being frustrated at the fact his uncle a man of the royal family mind you was dancing like a clown in the street. Finally the point of the Tree being at the center we all are branches of one source ie God man was made to procreate the essence of balance and tranquility can always be found in a source of nature. Time is an illusion going back to the fact that we are all connected.
