People say that Toph has more diversity and precision than Bumi, but Bumi is can perform bigger feats. Not so, Toph has precision and massive feats. She's got it all. Indeed, she held up a building loaded with tons of tombs and artifacts by herself. Here she slows down a metal drill that a squad off elite Earth-benders couldn't even begin to hinder.

​@@IamnotJohnFord Bumi has 100 years of knowledge and practice, while Toph is clearly the most powerful earth bender in the series (Kyoshi doesn't count here since she was the avatar lol). I don't see the point in pitting Bumi against Toph, but I think they'd probably be fairly evenly matched. Bumi may have been able to hold up the library _and_ stop the sandbenders, because we've seen that he knows how to bend sand, when he dueled Aang in season 1(?), and he's not blind so seeing wouldn't be an issue. They both have different strengths

Hmm - good point. The sentence structure was ambiguous and he didn't say actually "with" at 20:10. Spartan's precise words were: "Unlike Zuko, she's older than Aang". I thought his meaning was "Azula, unlike Zuko, is older than Aang", which would imply Azula is older. But I know what you mean now - cheers :)

During the flashback in Zuko Alone when Iroh was writing to the family back home you can see that they broke through the wall and the dagger he sent Zuko was from whoever was the general of the wall at the time who surrendered.

If Azula had just blasted Aang with fire from a distance when he was knocked unconscious, she and the Fire Nation could have won right then and there. Fortunately for Aang, Azula is a sadist who wanted to savor the close-up kill, giving him time to snap back awake.

I know she's a villain and I know she's obnoxious, but it never ceases to amaze me how THREATENING Azula is. All the characters have their share of humor, even in the battles. Azula doesn't. Azula is totally lethal and competent. She's an antagonist completely on par with the series.

To be honest I didn't thought that before but Iroh could be a water bender and still heat his drink. I imagine if Katara can freeze water, waterbenders can heat it too. I mean they can melt ice quickly and efficiently. I know we never saw anyone do that as far as I know but I imagine it is possible. Never the less it is a great episode seeing Aang get more mature and execute ways of the earthbenders never back out from a fight. He used to always evade fights as an airbender now he faces them head on not just with earth but using everything he knows. Just like an earthbender.

​@@Lancelot82923 I mean we don't know how exactly waterbenders do ice/steam but it doesn't necessarily means they control the heat. Nebulizers can turn water into steam without boiling it, they use pressure instead. So their bending could be something similar for both ice and steam

So many ppl think him being the avatar gives him some special skill to master the elements. That’s false. All it does is give him the ability to bend all elements and the avatar state. How he actually does that is all up to him. And that’s why he’s a prodigy, not because he’s the avatar. The reason why he’s an air bending master? The same way azula or toph are masters in their own element. Nothing about being the avatar is responsible for that.
