I like that Azula is more concerned with maintaining her reputation than improving it. The glory for killing the Avatar would be nice, but she doesn't need it. And the small risk that the Avatar is still alive and damaging her reputation is too great for her, so she just give the glory to Zuko. But again in episode 2 you get the impression that she still has something for her brother.

Lots of brilliant VA performances in this show, Grey Griffin as Azula and the legendary Mark Hamill as Fire Lord Ozai come to mind, but Mae Whitman's Katara when she speaks to her father is next level. Still one of the best deliveries I've ever heard

i think the most beautiful thing they did in the first episode was parallel how zukos dad reacts to zuko coming home and how kataras dad reacts to katara "coming home" (being with him again) they contradict each other in how one is so full of love and regret and the other is about having to do something to earn love anyway yeah Im gonna go into my corner and cry
