have to go into it with an open mind, you'll never like it if you compare it to the original. Its an adaption not a copy, wouldnt be much point having a LA if it was the exact same. I personally enjoyed it when i went into it thinking it was its own show

If i remember correctly the first episode of the show also had an exposition heavy intro and changed it for the episodes after

I feel like they’re keeping to the source, but changing things around. Makes me wonder how it’ll affect the next season 😮 (if they give it a thumbs up)

I think Jason is one of those "fans" who look at all the films or other series to compare them to the animation and try to judge them as if they were the EQUAL. But they are not. Jason, you need to remember this is called ADAPTATION for a REASON. It is not a COPY. If you want a faithful copy, better watch the animation, right?

Why do people constantly comparing this show tot the animated series? Would you like a frame for frame remake? If you want that, you'll hate this series. If you look for a great remake, al little darker where the story is been told in a different way: you'll love it. You should watch this as a separate series.

I couldn’t feel that spark at all the entire time I watched it. Too rushed, surprisingly picky with katara’s personality that I didn’t feel it hit what it should be, Aang isn’t very goofy- too much serious imo…list could go on…it’s a good show if you didn’t want the animation. I also had a big problem when it came to the avatar state and how Aang could talk to the past avatars. There was many times where Aang spoke with Roku that this live action changed. When Aang went into the avatar state forcefully cause General Sun thought Aang could end the war just with the avatar state. When Aang needed to speak to Roku about how to help save the water tribe. When Aang asked where he was on the lion turtle and was able to speak many different avatars and request for help on how to defeat the avatar. When Aang needed to learn the history of Roku and Sozin. Just things like this really get to me because that I felt was a major detail with the show as Roku and Aang had a very special relationship and how Aang was guided to be the avatar. Not this “I can only speak the to avatars if I’m at their shrines” bull.

Didn't binge the series before watching this, haven't rewatched it in over 5 years. Just have a good memory when it comes to media. Oh and btw that's how I watch stuff, I'll call out what I don't like and praise what I do. Blind love or hatred for something is silly. So if you were looking for someone to seal clap for every little thing, then I'm sorry. That's not me. Unless it's earned. Though I will say, I did like a lot more of what the next 2 episodes did.

@@JasonJeffory except for the fact that you complained multiple times and the show explains things before your very eyes, and you just so happen to cut those parts from your video. Obviously, I understand you have to comment in real time for the reaction video. But nitpicking every single detail like Gyatso, the introduction monologue, is so conceited coming from someone who claims he's a fan. You're such a contrarian that any slight deviation is just an opportunity for you to complain. Thank god you didn't watch the One Piece series, cause would have complained about the slightest change in detail as well

Don't thank your God just yet as I DID watch One Piece, I just never saw the anime. Also my complaint with Gyatso was his death was underwhelming in the LA show. Don't know how that is explained away in the show that wouldn't make it feel anticlimactic but ok.

@@JasonJeffory Yeah that was the sentiment regarding One Piece. You probably wouldn't enjoy it today anyway because of how outdated it is. Which explains a lot of your takes. You said you watched it when it came out in 2005 which you and then again in 2019 which makes it seem like you're letting nostalgia dictate your opinion rather than watching the show as its own entity. Again, all your takes are: nope, not like the original, bad. They didn't do this, bad. That's probably the dumbest way to watch a show. Also, Gyatso's role and his death are much more underwhelming in the cartoon than here. You just complained about the fire benders not appearing strong during the comet but then when they kill Gyatso you complain that he comes off as a bitch for not putting up a strong fight. And yes, I know about the theory with Gyatso seemingly killing all the fire nation troops by sucking the air out of them. But you took such a small infantile detail that was never addressed until years later and made it the premise for your critics. And you no doubt will continue to do so for the next 6 episodes.

Have to say I like your style of reviewing. Feels nuanced and honest, not just hyping or hating. I really liked the show, it's not perfect, but the slightly more serious tone suits the live action. I think a more "accurate" adaption would have felt goofy. The pacing feels better than the original too. In the end I'm just happy that we got a _good_ live action version. The bending is pretty sweet. Looking forward to seeing them progress in future seasons.
