I am certain they are going to be putting some of the flashbacks from "Zuko Alone" in the first season. For flashbacks to be believable, the characters need to look younger. Waiting for season 2 would not make sense when the actors are at an age that one or two years is very noticeable. Pre-filming would be ideal, but unlikely.

Yeah it would make the most sense to film not just Zuko's, but Aang, Katara and Sokka's flashback scenes before anything else, but who knows how possible that is from a logistics perspective

I mean Katara really was older than Aang especially since a 12 year old boy really looks waay younger vs a 14 year old girl. Also, the romance wasn't really a deal in season 1, and it was more on Aang having an innocent crush on Katara. It's way in season 3 that she actually starts to consider it ... but personally I was never a fan of that ship but hey, it's canon I guess

They didn’t go into the romance with Aang and Katara until season 3 which will probably come in a few years. By then the actor for Aang will look a lot older.
