If youse havnt already I highly recommend watching netflix's Yu Yu Hakusho adaptation. I thought it would be trash but was very wrong. It's up there with One Piece LA. Also gives me a little confidence on a live action DB

This might be a hot take, but the original creators aren't infallible. They made the masterpiece that is the last air bender, but they also made Kora. 🤷🏾‍♂️ So, I guess we'll see. I have high hopes this show will be good.

With the OG creators leaving I don’t have long term faith in them to fully adapt it perfectly (judging by the actor who lied about being a native to get the role of Sokka saying they got rid of his sexist traits from early in the show unnecessarily and as well as the acting and line delivery kinda coming across weak), I think it’ll be dope! As long as the actors have chemistry of the course of the show I’m sure they’ll nail the production of it overall it seems on point with the bending, world building, music, costumes, and vibes from the anime! Fingers crossed it’s solid (if it isn’t just remember this shows existence does not MATTER when we’re getting more ATLA stories in FEATURE LENGTH animated movies from the OG creators 😄)

Yeah the original creators are going futuristic with it set 100 years after Kora and it will basically be cyberpunk avatar with most likely non of the original charm or writing. They said they are gonna be focusing on new current events and ideas so take that as you will lmao.

To be fair, TV serializations are different than animated series. In order for the live action to make sense and fit a season of animated episodes into 8 live action episodes, some things had to be retooled. It's just that Michael and Bryan didn't agree with that notion. (Also, I don't think it's unnecessary to get rid of Sokka's sexism. Like, yeah. Throw it out.) Otherwise I think this'll be great .. though I agree Aang's voice overs are a bit weak. I'm hoping this is a conscious choice (as a former Airbending monk and all) which will change over time to show his progression. He better get that bass when it's time go against Ozai.
