ofc it LOOKs great with characters n all + cgi, etc. but i just hope they keep to the story, and not do like what they did in the movie, the only thing worse than a story not making sense is a story that crams too many plot lines together, it also doesn't help that apparently the OG creators leftnetflix because of "Creative differences" the worst kind of difference. hopefully this doesn't become like the movie version, or worse, barley have any rights to the IP and will end up like rings of power(i am not saying rings of power is bad, its just amazon can't follow much of the source material, im not saying Peter Jacksons version was perfect either, i just hope TLA doesn't turn out the same way) also i know they might not have enough money to replicate every episode from the show, but you know what i mean, but much like most live actions, if it really does turn out different, it will most likely gain a positive audience from people who don't watch animated series/movies, and im okay with that, ive seen the same thing happen to death note, crossing my fingers for avatar tho, i grew up with avatar lol

Maybe I am missing something but I know the fire nation killed the airbenders because the next avatar will be born in the air nation but what is the point? I mean the avatar will still be born again in a different nation right? Do they even know that the only way to break the reincarnation is to kill the avatar in avatar state?

The goal of the fire nation was to break the status quo of their time and establish a new one. By killing the avatar reincarnation, they hoped they would have enough time to do that before the next one. After all, the avatar wouldn't change the status quo he/she would have been born into at the price of igniting a new worldwide war.

Yea. From what I know that's why they captured water benders and basically prohibited earth benders from bending when they ruled over certain earth kingdoms. Fire nation was waiting willing to cease bending from others if necessary

So when Sozin (who personally knew Avatar Roku) killed off the Air Nomads it was a power play. He knew obviously that he would be the next element and he only did it when Aang was 12 because he was using the comet to make the firebenders strong enough to do the genocide in a fell swoop. Aang would have been twelve bc I'm sure Sozin kept count right after Roku's death so Sozin also knew that if he didn't get the air nomad born Avatar then, they would have a chance to flee and master the elements still and come back after him. Sozin knew Roku was 16 when his Avatar status was revealed and so he probably felt like the comet coming when it did originally + the air Avatar still being a child was something he could stomp on in one move. I'm certain that is why when on his deathbed when Sozin remarks (in the episode 'The Avatar and the Firelord") about Aang eluding him and it showing a fire nation navy ship in the south pole waters, he makes it seem like he was down there bc perhaps the Avatar was reborn or hiding out there training in waterbending. TL;DR: Sozin could not wipe out the air nomads without the first comet. As such, when he does and gets no wind of a water tribe baby being the next one, he's lost between whether Aang is alive or reincarnated already.

If an Avatar is killed within the Avatar state. the Cycle is broken and there will be no more avatars. Thus, with no more airbenders, the cycle would be gone within the next three avatars. The cycle backwards is Earth avatar (Kyoshi), Fire (Roku), Water (Koruk), and then back to Air (Yangchen). If Aang were to die, the next avatar would be from the Water tribe, then Fire, then Earth and then back to air.
