You’re misinterpreting the meaning of the line, “Better your life, justify your pain. The end is knocking. The end is knocking!” This is the Genius interpretation, and I believe this is the message Matt was trying to get across: “People have been in wars over greed and power for almost all of human history. They are always creating excuses to justify all the lives lost, since the ruler rarely gambles his own life. And there’s always another battle to win, and there’s no denying someone else wants what you’ve fought for. So you always have death waiting around the corner.” As you can see, it is referring to living a prideful life, and how, though it may bring fame and fortune, it is actually quite a hollow existence.
