Hahaha sweet. This song is an analogy for abusive relationships and breaking up and getting together again a little more dead inside each time. Trying to fix it with marriage or teaming up on people. Just much spookier haha. Your reaction was great xD

It's like a hyperbolic metaphor that shows an extreme scenario of toxic relationships not only killing the people in the relationship but also how their toxicity affects those around them (when they massacre the wedding that was already happening) If you listen to the lyrics, the first part of the song didn't even happen. He imagined that he asked her to marry him but she laughs in his face. And to make sure that didn't happen, he killed her "before the possibilities came true, I took all possibility from you" It's a shame that this reactor said the message of the song is "so wrong" 😂 just shows she didn't really get it. But that's the problem with abstract concepts being depicted this way. Most people only see the violence and immediately dismiss it as gross or evil. No hate or anything either. I think it'd be cool to see these two react to this song again after all these years, maybe they jam to it now lol 😂

This song could be said to be an exception in their catalog. Luckily you know something of the band's sound, so you shouldn't take this too seriously. As someone already said, I recommend some of the band's songs like "Shepherd of Fire", " Danger Line" or "Beast and The Harlot". These songs will please you for sure.

This is honestly one of their greatest songs, kind of their “Bohemian Rhapsody” in some sense... completely outside their catalog but the orchestra and the music itself with the vocals it really brings an amazing song to life... yea necrophilia and all that but it’s also an analogy on dysfunctional relationships and how toxicity chips away from us the longer we allow it to be present in our relationship... amazing reaction, please keep up the A7X :) please try unholy confessions live at LBC

I appreciate it that you both viewed this song from opposite angles. The beautiful thing about the way they presented it is that, depending on perspective, it can be funny, it can be terrifying, it can be romantic, or anywhere in between. It was originally written for a Halloween EP that the band wanted to do by The Rev, who laid down the piano parts, scratch melodies of what M. Shadows sang, and those bridges. M. Shadows was the driving force behind getting it finished, and it was one of the most difficult songs A7X have ever composed, although the most fun. The EP was scrapped, but Warner Brothers wanted the band to put this song on their self-titled album because it was so unique and artistically powerful that they didn't care about it getting censored. Steve Bartek from the band Oingo Boingo, who writes most Tim Burton film scores with Danny Elfman, did the horn arrangements on this song, and the female vocals were done by Juliette Commagere. If you listen closely during the wedding murder scene, you can hear The Rev screaming "HOT DOG!". Fun little fact! 😂

Context is important for this song because it's so out there. Sevenfold were signed up to record a short Halloween themed E.P by their record label, and the drummer Jimmy decided to write just a batshit crazy, massively epic horror song/love story that evolved to include all sorts of orchestral background music and guest musicians just full of wackiness and fun, and they just kept adding to it and fucking around having fun with it until it evolved into this, what I'd consider absolute masterpiece, crazy song. It ended up being so good that it was moved onto their upcoming main album they were recording. There's a small documentary about the making of the song showing them in the studio and how they came up with and recorded it. It's easily my favourite Sevenfold song because it's one of the only times we really see and hear what Jimmy was like as a musician taking the lead on a track, it has his vocals in the track that give me goosebumps, and he died not too long after this, so to me it's a final testament to how brilliant he was as a musician. I've missed his input in the band from the day he died and I'm just glad he had a chance to really compose and put together this song.

This was originally intended for a Halloween EP, and I don't think it was intended as an analogy for anything, lol. It's a Halloween zombie story, tongue in cheek and meant to be ridiculous. It's definitely become a cult favourite among fans, and Avenged has frequently used it to end shows. ...it still makes a lot of us laugh, I think.

I totally understand that this story is overwhelming as hell, but it really bums me that every reaction I see to ALPOH is focused on the creepy videoclip and not or the absolute banger of a frickin' masterpiece that it is, musically speaking. Sure there were moments where you guys talked about it, but it is so rich, the instruments, the harmony, all the changes that happen all the time, THe BACKING VOCALS, that should really have a little more attention during reactions. This song literally makes me want to cry every time I listen to it by how amazingly written and performed it was.

I didn't think you two were quite ready for this, but you handled it better than I thought you would. It really is a masterpiece, beautifully written. The woman they had as the guest singer for the duet, the choir, the jazz ensemble were all woven together so seamlessly with the A7X members metal style. This was intended to be a Halloween party song for adults, but the concept album was scrapped after the Rev's death. The band members had all added little bits of dark humor to it to have fun. I think the title was part of a joke, how some men used to crudely say he "got all up in that" as a reference to sex. The lyrics when the guy goes to Hell says and feels remorse for what he's done say, "While I was all up in a piece of heaven, you were burning in Hell, no peace forever." I have no doubt the song will sound better every time you hear it. The story that happens to include elements of necromancy, necrophilia, and cannibalism, but at it's core, it's an epic love story.

The primary thing about this song is the way it was made, and while I will never take away from Jimmy's talent a lot of people don't know he was a dropout who was living in a laundromat that didn't have any big formal musical education and every bit of the instrumental in the background was all in his head and he got it to this with his love of the craft. One of the world's best drummers period, with unique ideas and vocals. RIP miss him so much in their music.

This song was originally supposed to go on a Halloween EP they were going to do. That should explain some of it for you. There is a making of video for this song and I highly recommend watching it. It is amazing how much they all put into this masterpiece.

A little piece of heaven is, in some contexts, a synonym for sin. If youre on a strict diet and you cheat just once with a chocolate bonbon, that bonbon is "your little peice of heaven". Something you shouldnt do but cant resist. It can also be an analogy for finding the tiny good in something massively bad. If you have a really shit job, youre stressed out, youre depressed but once a week you have a couple of hours to yourself and maybe you have a secluded park bench out in nature somewhere, then thats "your little peice of heaven" in all of the darkness surrounding you. I dont know for a fact which the band is referring to but both of them fits rather perfectly.

@@alexdonnelly5366 no I know. It's a joke. I have been listening to A7X since before they put out an album. Shadows has a distinct voice, especially after his surgeries. Best rock band of my time!

It was written for a Halloween EP that didn't happen and its pure Jimmy. Its hilarious and a huge fan favourite. Its worth catching the live version cos they used to close out shows with it

Lol did they do this review without the video? This is a masterpiece, I love A7X for their musical and visual creativity and especially this song, I understood every part of it. If you love horror, which they do, this is the most romantic love story every told, lol. Truly. Guy kills girl, girl comes back to life and kills guy. She says she'll give him another chance, they kill together, create new memories and it's basically a fresh start for both of them. The lesson of the video of how I looked at it was that if you have problems in your relationship, you must kill off (not the person), but the toxicity. You must learn to communicate, forgive, and work things out. Put in more effort, find different things you can do together, create new memories and just start new.

The lyrics are metaphor.. the video is just showing it literally.. It's talking about abusive relationship.. like the line "Now an angry soul comes back from beyond the grave, To repossess a body with which I'd misbehaved." They take revenge on each other for their actions instead of forgiving one another..
