We’re thrilled to announce our new album, Life Is But A Dream… available June 2, 2023. Watch our official stop-motion video for “Nobody” - directed by Chris Hopewell. Stop motion is a handmade labor of love, often taking 90 minutes just to capture only 2 seconds of footage. "Nobody" is streaming everywhere now: a7x.lnk.to/nobody
The new album was written and recorded over the span of four years, and inspired by the writing and philosophy of Albert Camus. Our good friend and brilliant artist, Wes Lang, encapsulated our theme of existentialism through visual art for the album packaging. Pre-order now: a7x.lnk.to/libad.

I think if the drums didn't outright kill the song it would at least be listenable. "A Little Piece Of Heaven" had much better execution for what I feel is what they where trying to do though. Yes different intentions on both songs but both are more on the experimental side.

I love how Matt's voice sounds. It's very different from his old voice for sure, and honestly I like how he uses it. It sounds, ironically, less nasally alongside the new...slightly raspy, more "worn" sound he has since he recovered from the blood blister that formed on his vocal cords. I'd say congrats on him the recovery, because clearly he didn't entirely destroy his ability to make great music. Great show, can't wait for the next single as well as the next album's release. I'd pay all the money in the world if it meant being able to hear that new album sooner rather than later, and I'd kill to see it all performed live.

@BlaireSnorlax
@BlaireSnorlax Жыл бұрын
@@gaborkiss1425 Yes, yes, it very much so does. Truthfully, I think it fits well within the context of their entire discography. You've got Matt going absolutely fuckin' wild on the first two (Sounding the Seventh Trumpet and Waking the Fallen) and then it progresses into a different type of wild without a whole shit-ton of screams in City of Evil. Then you have Nightmare, which feels more subdued since it lacks almost any screaming aside from like, God Hates Us and maybe another track or two, I forget. Hail to the King is where that style kinda peaks, and then The Stage is the beginning of their existential phase which, honestly, I loved. And now we have this album (I'll refer to it by the single's name) Nobody, where we hear the effects that wrecking his voice had on him. In a way, just the vocals of the albums kinda tells a story, ya know? (Sorry for the novel)

When I first heard this song I was thinking they got old and what the heck happened to the vocals. But the song grows on you, and obviously has a message in it. Older A7x had this tormented soul ptsd vibe, now is speaks to a bigger picture/deeper perspective on life. Great guitar, killer drums, hypnotic vocals. Lives change, people evolve emotionally and spiritually so does Avenged, great work gentlemen.

this is certainly heading in the same direction that the stage was pointing toward, but the style is very different to what im used to from a7x. Its definitely not a bad thing as iv come to expect that with each album the band has grown, they enjoy new styles, new thoughts and ideas so of course the new album is going to be at minimum a little different style wise from the last. The one thing thats reoccurring through every album: The common theme: is poetry. Each song you listen to has so many complex meanings, concepts, ideas, messages its trying to convey with as much style as they possibly can slot in there. The only thing you can really compare that to: is poetry. I love the poetry in every single a7x song i started off with Nightmare and not ready to die from black ops making me a normy at the time im sure. But what really kept me around was diving deep into the meanings of the songs. I can tell im going to really enjoy the new album even if the style might need to grow on me. Cheers mates, youre all awesome and I love the new drums.

You can really hear the change in Matt's voice. It sounds more weathered. Age catches up with us all but the band's service to the fans has always been exceptional over the years. Edit: Perhaps I should have phrased my sentiments more elaborately. The time was 3am where I am. I love A7X. Always have, always will. I'm not bashing Matt's vocals. I'm simply making an observation. There's not a vocalist on Earth that will have the same singing voice after 20 years of singing. Listen to any track from City of Evil and then listen to any track from The Stage. Same singer, years apart, and you can hear it. That's all I'm saying. I appreciate the passionate dialogue, though. Keep it going.

This is such an incredibly profound song. The lyrics describe the realization of the truth of reality's emptiness. The singer or "I" has learned that the ego is a false veil, and in his description of his newfound realization, he illustrates the oneness he now feels with all existence that has always been there. This, while peaceful sounding, is, of course, horrifying to any being attached to their ego, which is symbolized by the unnerving and powerful horn played throughout the song always after the word "nobody" is chanted. The character's eventual accepting of the truth is later symbolized by a beautifully hypnotizing orchestra and guitar solo. This song is a musical masterpiece and a deeply spiritual experience. I interpreted this video as a PSA on men's depression. We walk, building this world, there is a ton of chaos, where is our peace? We continue to walk, searching for meaning, and all we see is death and more destruction. Excited, we get a chance for some peace, finally.....As we are observing our choices, seemingly in our oasis, we realize that it is all fake and has been a lie. Frustrated we are to learn that this peace has not been granted, we destroy all of the fakeness in our lives. As we fall into the void thinking of what could have been, it's easier to feel like you would just be better off gone. Keep your heads high men, don't ever give up, but be true to yourselves without sacrificing your integrity and value!

@@johnnyRandomadness Well it is true,look at Sunding the seenth trumpet and waking the fallen,much improvement,same with other albums later on,but i think that The stage was a hint that in the future they will use more technology and more details and more other things than just the basics that always gave them worldwide fame.

I love how some lists of best guitarists skips Syn Gates altogether or put him at #50 with people like Keith Richards and Joe Perry and Jimmy Page in top 5 or top 10. I understand that they were influential to rock n roll today, but so is Jeff Loomis and Syn Gates to the music of last 15 years. Their solos are so interesting, and Syn Gates composition skills are top notch, especially nowadays. He is the best.

I won't lie, this video alone is a lot yo take in. The band touched on quite a few serious and troubling societal themes in the stage album, but bow they are taking it 10 steps further and really allowing their art to take its own shape. I love their earlier crazy albums, I love those vibes, but I cannot wait to dive into this new world with A7X🤘🤘

I feel like the Stage was about science and mankind, I'm "afraid" this one will be about death and be more philosophical, like the meaning of life, what is our purpose and such. It's gonna hit us hard with feelings, self-reflection and maybe like The Stage did for me, a teensy bit of self-hatred.
