Just thought it’s worth mentioning that the intro guitar part he’s playing is in the style of Gypsy jazz. Synyster Gates plays and incorporates lots of different styles like blues, classical, country, etc and makes it work with their songs which is very impressive and fun to listen to because you never know what he and the band are going to do next. There’s a video of him playing Gypsy jazz that you should check out! It’s “Synyster Gates: Guitar Center Master Class Gypsy Jazz”

Please check out the full song for “Exist” too, if you do the Grammy version it’s about a 3 minute portion of the full 15 1/2 minute song, which is meant to be a musical interpretation of the Big Bang. It’s a musical masterpiece

What I love is Papa Gates played the main riff during the verse here while Syn took over the chords with Zacky. There's also the tiny lyric change in the bridge. "Iron fist to tame the land". To Tame a Land is the name of an Iron Maiden song. Then the gypsy jazz style of the solo comes through more. It's a great version.

Agreed! Going into the video, I though 'there's no way it will top the first one'.... Boy, was I wrong. I don't think it' a better or worse thing though, but it was equally amazing in a different way.

@@BetterEveryDayKZbin I'm pretty glad you did this one. Some of the performances for the Hail to the King era were really rough, especially in 2014, and Matt's voice was back in good form during this cycle for The Stage.

That's really one she should hear the studio version for first. They didn't rehearse it for the Grammy performance, and there was more mistakes than they usually make with any song.

Great reaction! Made me subscribe :) If you love Matts voice in this, you DEFINITELY need to check out Street Spirit by These Grey Men. It's a cover by System of A Downs drummer John Dolmayan and features M. Shadows on the vocals and also Tom Morello on the closing guitar solo. I LOVE Matts vocals on this and while the song is it's completely own thing I feel it honors the original version by Radio Head. Many people in the comments feel that Matts vocals in that song were reminiscent of the late Chris Cornells. I really think it would help you to appreciate Matts vocals even further.

She's one step closer to Avenged Sevenfold being her favorite band. We're slowly wearing her down. 😈🤘 I believe the band did this show because they were nominated for Grammy award. I particularly love their cover of "As Tears Go By" from this show. The original, from Rolling Stones really sucked...badly. I'm happy A7X could salvage the song.

The first version that was released, which became the version every person knew, was the Marianne Faithfull version. It was a great thing that The Stones handed it off to her, because it really did help her career out, and they ended up doing so well anyway.
