Wow. I don't know what to say. I've always loved watching reaction videos, but all the other ones are nothing comparing to yours. You are such intelligent couple. Going through the music, trying to understand every single word and meaning, and just enjoying the music itself. I can tell, I've watched every video on your channel (with A7X ofc :)) and this particule one made me to write this. You know, Avenged Sevenfold is a special band for me. Though I listen to many different types of music (I'm kinda addicted to it), this is the band I listen to almost every day. With the wide variety of songs about depression, fighting own demons or just life itself as it is, they combine this with so good instrumental music. Thanks to their passion and talent, they can really speak from their hearts playing music, which I've always adored - expressing yourself through the music. I know it's kinda long comment and may be full on grammatical errors (I'm from Poland and still learning :P), but I just wanted to say thank you, cause it's the first time I've watched a video like this with tears in my eyes. I know it's kinda stupid to keep to that one band, but seriously they've got a lot to offer. I know that you have a lot propositons for the next reaction videos, but songs like Coming Home, Blinded in Chains, Buried Alive (hell, even just whole Nightmare album) are the songs I will be really looking forward to see on your channel. That being said, I already subbed you guys, you're doing great work, just be who you are, beautiful people.

The way they analyze their music is really good, i always think when hearing the analysis "oh yeah I thought about that too", i feel so good hahah. Or sometimes they interpret the lyrics in a different way than me, wich is awesome too. Anyway, just wanted to say that I feel the same way about the band. Hugs from Brazil!

VinAnd Sori the Rev is the reason I play drums. I saw play at a show on my 18th birthday. I will never forget the he pointed directly at me and I think it is because God inspired the Rev to point at me. I believe that God works in mysterious ways. I don't believe in coincidence because I was meant to see him play. The Rev was extremely talented through the music he produced. I will never forget the day I found out he died. I was in shock when I found he was dead. Avenged Sevenfold was considering disbanding but I am glad they kept going in honor of the Rev. I wish I could meet Avenged Sevenfold and tell them the impact their music has had on my life. I love your video and keep up the good work.

The "stone cold lips and heresy" line to me refers to the other song on their album titled God Hates Us. That song is heavy and to me represented the band's anger. Through this song they expressed the anger of losing their friend

I personally believe The Rev did commit suicide, because he was 28 when he died and doctors told him that he most likely wasnt going to live past 30 because of a heart condition and his last months would have been agonizingly painful, so he wrote with the band on the album, Nightmare, and a few days after giving them his final song, Fiction, he died. All of the years and shows he performed before his death were spot on and absolutely insane, in only about 10 years of being a drummer, he was able to blow minds and his song writing was on another level, he is known as one of the best metal drummers even though he had such a short lived career, really shows how amazing he really was, so he gave every show his all and made the best songs he possibly could while he was living so that people could enjoy and recognize the mark he left in the music world. All of the songs that he wrote, such as Almost Easy, Fiction A Little Piece Of Heaven, etc. Are among their best songs ever imo, I just love them so much. RIP Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, foREVer will his music live on.

*WARNING* This is gonna be a long comment *WARNING* First of all, I'm happy to see that you figured out how to screen capture. I mean, it wasn't perfect, but it will get better. Now for the song background which I find extremely important. So the album was close to being finished when The Rev passed away. The drummer on the album was Mike Portnoy who was previously a longtime drummer of Dream Theater. The band said that this had to bet their best album because it's the last one with The Rev. This song is the closing song of the album and all of the songs on it are dedicated to the late drummer. Now, you did two videos of avenged sevenfold in a row, you attracted a lot of avenged sevenfold fans and you are going to be drowning in their requests. If you are going to do any other songs, I would suggest for them to be off this album, Nightmare. But I think the best would be So Far Away as it would be a great continuation of this video. And The Rev never missed any snares, Vin 😂😂 He was too good.

@ajalonzo27056 жыл бұрын
VinAnd Sori mace. Like pepper spray. It's one of M Shadows favorite stories about Jimmy. One of the years they played rock am ring in Germany, Jimmy got arrested for public intoxication and the cops had used pepper spray on him. They threw him in jail without giving him a shower and he essentially left from overnight jail straight to the venue. Well, as he was playing, he was sweating. That sweat had dried mace in it and was dripping into his eyes as he was playing the show. Look up avengeds favorite stories about the rev and you'll find it. It's explained quite hilariously and makes you just wish that Jimmy was your own best friend because he was an absolutely decent and amazing person.

"Sanity left us all blind, and dragged us all behind" sounds like a reference to our need for control, to know or be right, and have the answers/comfort. Which, inevitably, leads to suffering. "Insanity left us behind, and walked right through the door" would be letting go of all of that. Reminds me of the old quote, "there's the known, and the unknown, and inbetween are the doors."

@01koldshok4 жыл бұрын
@@bhanu6751 On the off chance that you're not trolling, I'll go ahead and respond. 1. Being born first doesn't equal superior talent. 2. Being a member of Metallica doesn't automatically mean superior talent. 3. Lars has a VERY simplistic style. His tempos are inconsistent and his timing is subpar at best. "Ruling the world?" What? 4. I have no idea what your last sentence means, but it doesn't matter who I think is better; that is subjective. However, coming here and saying that Lars is better than the Rev tells me a couple of things. 1. You know nothing about drumming. 2. You're a casual listener and never really took the time to study either of these bands. I'm really not trying to be an ass, but I'm generally curious as to your thoughts on what makes Lars better.
@bhanu67514 жыл бұрын
@@01koldshok Lars was is nd 'l incredibly creative as a drummer. Lars literally invented thrash drumming, and some of the stuff he did on their first four albums made him world class at the time. His work on “Dyers Eve,” for example, was so mind-blowing that some drummers still debate today 30 years later! whether it was faked or not. Matt (lead singer) once said in an interview that the entire nightmare album was a tribute to jimmy. Also I love all these biblical references of yours and the fact that you're not afraid of speaking about our faith ;) as someone already mentioned somewhere in the comments, their song Chapter Four goes into the story of Cain and Abel. Wish you all the best :)

Man I'm so late on this boat but god I love your review on this. As an a7x fan since '04, I was lucky enough to meet the rev a few times and God he was crazy, wonderful, exhausting and when he was lost it was like a shot to the gut. Us fans didn't think avenged could come back without him. Or that we could either. The shows for that album after we lost the rev were emotionally exhausting but at least nobody had to grieve alone for a while. There's something magical about this song in particular that encompassed the grief, rage, confusion and fear that comes with sudden loss, and it's horribly, beautifully relatable to anyone that's lost someone. When the rev died, insanity left us all behind that day. There's a magic to that exhausting crazy, a magic of impossibility and implausibility and sometimes the worst feeling is for that hard, cold sanity to be all you've got left. We miss you Jimmy, we will always miss you l, foREVer.

Lost my dog almost a week ago and this dog was basically what kept me going in life. Anyways I know what you mean by dreaming about them and then waking up to realize they're not there anymore and it hurts. I literally have dreamt about this dog almost every night. It's really been fucking with my head

What makes this even more sad is the Rev actually wrote this song.

This is why I love reaction videos. It's not just the reactions on people's faces but also what they take from it. It is never right or wrong, music means different things to different people. The one thing I think you should understand is that metal is mystical. It is about taking what we all experience and trying to see how that fits into the grand design. When listening to this it is easy to focus on the experience of the person and why they wrote it rather than how they are interpreting it in a universal way. We have all these profound things that we don't speak of that we all experience, because it is taboo. We instead focus on the trivial and the mundane. This is insanity, and deep down we all know it. That is why they continually says, "They all know!"

Really enjoyed this reaction. I adore A7X (biggest fan in the world level of obsessed) and watching you 2 react to this, hearing it for the first time brought back a fair few emotions. I love the entire band as they got me into Metal but The Rev was my main guy, my idol and he definitely loves on through us fans. Thanks again!

So to put it simple, not only did the Rev die young, but as a collective, they all did. Loss can really change a person.

One of my original favorites as far as A7X songs go, was probably "Unholy Confessions"... The whole Waking the Fallen album was awesome. I'm just beginning the video so maybe you touch on it later but if not I was just wondering if you were aware the band name comes From Genesis and the story of Cain and Abel. They even have a song called "Chapter 4" which goes through the story of the brothers and the way God handles the situation by marking Cain and stating that he will continue to walk the earth safely and anyone who killed him would suffer vengeance times seven. Or in other words... Cain would be avenged sevenfold.

I, personally, feel/think that the "soul plane/4th dimension" is the only true existence. I heard an interview with Matt/Shadows and I'll summarize what he said in this radio interview, is that Jimmy/Rev felt like he was trapped by his skin and that's the reason for the handcuff tattoo on his neck. There's always a story behind every tattoo. I think Jimmy had a better understanding of life. Whether it be in this world or the next. In my heart, I feel like God sends us here for a purpose, a reason. We have a job to do under God's guidance. I don't believe we are sent here just to die. Our fingerprints do not fade from the lives we touch.

Subbed and liked, great reaction to this song (my personal favorite from them). React to Warmness on the Soul by Avenged Sevenfold. Edit: Some heavy songs that are my favorites from them that you should react to as well: Chapter Four, The Wicked End, God Hates Us, Critical Acclaim.

@diversedad79543 жыл бұрын
I always considered the line "tonight we all die young" to mean the rev died young and a part of them all died when he died, so in a sense they all died young. If that makes any sense. It does in my head.

I feel as if this song is letting out a final cry, letting out the rest of their feelings after the whole album. Also, they’ve had to hold back some of their feelings through the album, as to not make it to dark or depressing. They didn’t want to touch too much on death, but this song has them let all that out, let them talk about all they were holding back. Death and everything.
