Hello from an iranian girl :) i just wanted to say that i realy loved you guys . this made me realy emosinal so i wanted to share my story here too . i lost my father in iraq and iran war . he was poisoned by chemical weapons. he was sick for almost 10 years and at the end he passed away in hospital when i was 3 years old .if there were no picture's of him i couldn't reconize his face . i couldn't point at him and be like hey that's my dad ! all i knew As my father's name was my mom crying late at night calling his name ... after he passed away my mom slowly went depressd . it was like if someone just riped the life out of her . she was like a walking dead.. she slowly got sick ... almost faced the death . doctors said she can't make it but she decided to fight and live for her kids sake . she lasted for 20 more years ... she fought untill her last breath to raise her childs and protect them . now she is buried on top of my fathers grave . you know as a person who is watching this whole war thing going on in my life , the more i hear , the more i feel like that what ever reasons they feed us to fight is just bullshit . nothing worths a war . NOTHING . god doesn't worth it, money doesn't worth it, power , honor ,... what ever the hell you call it . it doesn't worth a single human life . i watched how my mom slowly melted like a candle in the flames of war ... and that's the toughest thing i ever did . i don't want it for anyone else in this world . no one deserve this . no one . hope things get better between two countries . just felt like i need to let my words out . lot's of love from iran

Being someone who deployed to Iraq in 2007 and 2010, I didn't realize how I changed until I almost ended my life in 2016. My wife would tell me how I changed and didn't listen. After getting help I realized what I was going through and still do. All the images and feelings affect me everyday. I have a great support system. Synyster Gates (the guitarist). There are not enough good things I can say about this man. every single guitar solo he writes is... perfect. it's like the song tells you a story. But then you get to the guitar solo, and he's so good with that instrument that he tells you a whole new story. His guitar parts are an emotional roller coaster. there are faster players. there are more experienced players. but NOBODY can structure a song like this guy. It's absolutely unreal...

M.I.A. has always been a good song for me, I enlisted about a little over a year ago in the Marines and this song really shows my response on killing someone, the Marines really likes to brainwash us to that testosterone building mentality, and I've even been criticized for feeling I'd only do it if it were necessary

The perfect song. Perfect in every way. Vocally, drums, geetar, all the geetars, bass. Vocal harmony. Guitar harmony. What else do you want? A wicked guitar solo? Synyster takes care of that. This song is just amazing. Enough said.

Our actions in Somalia was because we (the West) don't understand Africa. When the Soviets caused a war between two advised countries (Ethopia and Somalia) the Somalians lost. This left 7 warlords in charge of 7 different tribes in the area. That was 1984. The famine that caused Ethopia to starve also caused same also effected Somalia. When the UN decided we needed to feed the Somalian's we picked 2 warlords. This caused the others to attack the UN forces and steal the food. This may seem like they were just being bandits, but one tribe being fed and another not will result in genocide. So, when we attempted to force convoys, it escalated. The result is what you know as Blackhawk down. I got to spend 6 months over there following it.

My grandfather was a partisan in command of a small group, and when they learned that a Russian friend of theirs had been deported to Germany as a prisoner, they didn't think twice and left here, in Northern Italy, to go and rescue him. It took them a week to reach it, they did it all on foot crossing the Alps, the woods and all the worst roads to avoid fascist or Nazi patrols. They were alone in enemy territory, and I have no idea how they did it but they managed to free their friend who fortunately had not yet been sent to any concentration camp. My grandfather died 14 years ago, but when I was little he always told me this story and he will always remain a hero to me. I still have the pocket watch that his Russian friend gave him, and when I asked him what the Cyrillic writing on it meant he replied "I wish I knew too, but I don't speak Russian." Every time I listen to this song I think back to everything that has gone through and I am moved

I was a fan of the band ever since. Jimmy Sullivan, their drummer dies in 2009. It was a great loss. I adopted a dog and named him Jimmy. Now he is very sick. And here I am with a problem called agoraphobia and social phobia, alone by choice far from the city in a country that is not mine. I connect with this video, for that thank you. I don't know why I write this here but well... forgive me.

Excellent song. One of the best on City of Evil! I'd be curious to hear a reaction to The Wicked End from the same album - my personal favourite song by them!

As a man who has struggled with personal demons myself and done things I wished I could have taken back and done differently as a man who hasn't severed I completely understand where you're coming from Vin and you'll never understand that how much I appreciate you're understanding but truthfulness to these subjects. I only hope that God my forgive me for all the Evil I've done and that one day I might find salvation.

On the subject of Birthdays I turn 22 on the 31st of July, I’m only just growing up and beginning to come to terms with the world around me and learning how to live properly. So on the subject could I request Dream Theater Learning To Live for my birthday? I would also like to thank you both for all of your videos and insight, Avenged Sevenfold are my favourite band and you helped me see this particular song from a different and certainly interesting perspective. Keep up the good work beautiful people 😊

I worked with a Vietnam vet for four years and on occasion he'd open up from time to time and he mentioned how he never felt the same since being over there. He said it wasn't right what they did and it's like a hole is formed that he can never fill back up no matter what, after killing another human being. My Cousin is dealing with similar stuff like anxiety and PTSD from Afghanistan/Middle East. He hasn't really opened up to me about it and I dont know what I'd say when people like that decide to open up to me about that but I dont mind if they feel like it could help just by having someone listen to them. It's odd to say the least to have Ben Shapiro say we needed to send a message but also say video games are immoral. I'm not defending video games violence but I dont agree that we should say killing is supposed to be a part of our American nature/culture.

I don't know how you guys do that but you are the only reaction channel that makes me watch whole 50 mins to hear your thoughts. Your comments are making songs deeper and deeper for me. Thanks for not having a shallow approach to repeat what song says only. I also wanna deeply thank you for being able to criticize your country so well. That takes some self confidence as I agree with everything you say.

I love it. watching people listen to a song without having an analysis of what they think it means is fuckin dumb. You just see there stupid face half bored most of the time OR They pause it every 30 seconds to talk. Annoying shit. Vin and Sori doin it right

When you actually listen to the lyrics and almost see other people's reactions to the song itself, it's kinda different because the song itself can send shivers down your spine with the story it's telling That's just happened here with me

Very good commentary on this war theme song. I personally love the song because it means something but you manage to view it in military point of you as you have background in military. Other KZbinrs they're just talking shit about "we should be proud of our soldiers" all those bs but don't really understand the complexity of the song. I come from military family too heard all the stories of killing and all. It was scary but my family did it for our country. It's good thing to point out of people who proud to say "I'm soldier" or " i just signed for army", which is like saying "i signed a job to kill people". Few of my uncles were proud to say that and like me, i was proud to say I have military family although it's nothing to be proud of. I mean like, what does it says about me? Killing is running in my blood or what? Another thing about war with America, let me rephrase for you, it's the America actively seeking war with others, not the other way around. I agree what you said about the Afghan and Iraqis. Most of them are poor. What can they do to America, honestly? Good commentary which can open people's eyes about reality.

Probably a little late to the party. Sitting here day before Veterans Day remembering how many damn times I listed to this song in 2007 on my first deployment. I was 19 and green and so full of anger. Lost my brothers my grandfather and had to do certain things to make it home alive. Some of them I’ve never ever spoke of. Glad I came across this. Still hits hard and music is what kept me alive through all of it.
