Great video Tempest. I agree with M. Shadows somewhat on this. Touring is the most bands can make money, more so than album sales. Still the cost of touring itself is expensive. Thus many bands, especially less mainstream ones have usual every day jobs to support themselves.

I have about 15 band shirts/hoodies. I always try to support but I think everyone is trying to stay afloat after 2020. It’s hard for both.

I read an interview years ago with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards where they talked about touring and how incredibly boring it was having to play the same songs night after night, sleeping on the tour bus and never knowing exactly where they were on any given day.

It's not touring as a whole, it's touring in the US specifically because of the Livenation/Ticketmaster monopoly and all it entails. The US is the largest market, yes, but it's far from the only one. Since touring in the US has become so awful because of Livenation/Ticketmaster bands should simply look elsewhere. Tour more in Europe, South America, Asia, etc. There are plenty of metal fans outside of the US, in fact there are many more metal fans per 1000 people in Europe or Japan than there are in the US. It's just that it's less concentrated, as you have to travel to more countries, but than the travel times are quite short(especially inside Europe) so you can more than make up for it. If more and more bands stop touring in the US and instead tour elsewhere the American touring industry will finally realize it's shooting itself in the leg and maybe something will finally change.
