This made me realize how convoluted and padded out asf the second act of this film is. They should have trimmed the second act and expanded the third act.

What could they have trimmed? The third act as is now is mainly an hour long battle--I don't know how much more of that's necessary, but I'll take it.

Even if they didn't expand it all that much and just shortened the run time, I would have liked that better. I felt when I watched this movie for the first time that the middle act really dragged and was so convoluted and plot heavy.

Except that they didn't. You realize that the main timeline cannot be changed? They can't change the past or what was "built" - all they can do is hop to another timeline but why would they want to do that? In the movie they needed the infinity stones, but after putting them back there is absolutely no need for them to time travel.
