And then some time passes by and Infinity War is out, so I watch it w my family coz everyone is freaking out at how "it's the most ambitious crossover event in history" and at that point, I START to get why everyone were such sluts for these movies lmao and I start getting to know the characters and shit. Neiko Tejeda the fact they give in the movie a guideline for time travel then break those guidelines. Thats why people are confused and upset about plot holes. Like why if time moves only a few seconds yet cap was gone for years can they not go back to when the avengers were first made and get them to make a machine there and time travel to the later avengers AKA the one where cap is old and iron man dead. And still help them and bring the younger cap and iron man and in their time they would only be gone for a sec. and they would be put back so it wouldnt change anything. And the fact they explain that when they travel they split time so how is cap in their time if he went back and spent his whole life in the 50’s. So my Dad managed to avoid paying attention to the MCU until Infinity War came out on Netflix. He suddenly got interested when Thanos snapped away so many characters. He was asking so many questions and I could only answer with 'you have to watch this movie and that movie'. So he did. Every single one, multiple times. He studied the movies, he fell in love with the characters, he quotes their lines. The trigger was the 'wait, what just happened' moment at the end of infinity war.

That was me as well when Infinity Way came to Netflix. I knew Marvel had been interweaving their characters and stories but I didn't realize how carefully crafted the over-arching story was. Once I realized how extremely unique the Snap was as a plot device and how daring it was to end such a gigantic blockbuster with a defeat to end all defeats for the protagonists, I was hooked. I have to admit, I havent gone back watch the earlier movies yet (basically Civil War and everything before it which did make Endgame challenging during some parts) but now I appreciate what Marvel has accomplished and I will make sure not to miss a movie going forward into the next phase.
