@shiberu Endgame wasn't announced in 2008 though. It was announced in 2014 as Infinity War part 2. If we take Endgame as the final result of the MCU's 10 years' progress, then technically, Secret Wars will have 17 years to be built up. Although, that's still a pretty small amount of time compared to how Secret Wars Volume 3 had a 30 years long build up in comics. But I have high expectations since, Secret Wars Volume 3 is "The Best" in case of comic book storylines.

It seems more likely that Secret Wars 3 (2015) is what is going to be adapted, given all the the talk of convergences and stuff, but it would not surprise me at all if elements from Secret Wars and Secret Wars II were also adapted into the overall story of Secret Wars 3.

The 1980s version of Secret Wars is what got me into comics when I was a teen. I heard that the was a comic where someone threw a mountain at the Avengers and Hulk had to stay pissed to keep it from crushing them and I said "Now that's what's up!"

I hope Avengers Secret Wars will be a hybrid of Jim Shooter’s 1984 Secret Wars and Jonathan Hickman’s 2014 Secret Wars. Considering we are going to see coverages and mutilverses, the three main villains will be Kang, Doctor Doom and The Beyonder. We’ve seen Cosmic gods so far. At the end of Avengers Secret Wars, we can see Galactus in the end.

10:20 if you think about it, this could be use to explain why we didnt saw the f4 before. What i mean is that maybe in the previous multiverse when kang's variants fought, the beyonder choosed the F4 to reshape the new multiverse at the end of loki s1. First Iron Man came out in 2008, that was 14 years ago, first Thor came out on 2011... I mean, depending on the age they were when they started they could keep going, but at some point they do have to retire (and Hemsworth decided to retire from acting due to a deficient gene that could get him a specific disease so he wants to spend time with family).

If the twist at the end of avengers 5 is what I think it will be, plus secret wars probably bringing back fan favourites (iron man, cap, the fox wolverine, basically the doctor strange cameos on steroids) I think that it could be on the same level as endgame. But I agree I don't think that it will be bigger just purely due to how much cultural weight endgame had as the ending of the infinity saga, which was partly what made it such a huge film.

Ive been saying since the passing of Chadwick Boseman that it is going to be revealed that Dr Doom was the one who killed T'Challa. Doom wanted to invade Wakanda to upgrade his armor with vibranium but T'Challa stops him but succumbs to his wounds from the fight. It may not be revealed in BP2, hopefully we get him in the post-credit scene a la Thanos in the first Avengers movie but eventually it'll come out that it was Doom.

i think with secret wars announced and the theme of deadpool & wolverine, spiderman no way home / multiverse of madness, this storyline will be more of a mashup of the 80s/2000s comics and the MCU in general. There should be a moment Dr Doom loses his mask, obviously we know its robert downey jr, but spiderman thinks its tony stark - he would even have his burnt face and everything - and at that point its established to us as the viewer that RD Jr USED to be iron man and now all there is, is Doom. Because it should be a multiversal Secret Wars if they are all just headed home. And almost all of those characters are already established, its kind of interesting that iron man is not there. D&W also hinted that its a "Disney universe" so Colossus, Thor, Hulk, Captain, Wolverine (Specifically the brown and yellow one), Spiderman, Human Torch and likely versions of Magneto and Iron Man from other universes. And not going to lie, in the movie version it would be hilarious if the iron man was played by willem dafoe, but you wouldnt know until the end haha:D

I was thinking that kang wins in avengers 5 but right at the end of the film just as he's creating a new sacred timeline, doom defeats him and then becomes the big villain of secret wars. Considering that they're starting to set him up as a big behind the scenes character in wakanda forever and I wouldn't be surprised if he has been linked to other events in phase 4 and the thunderbolts, it kind of makes sense and I think they'll use the end of this phase and the whole of the next phase to set him up as someone who can out plan and out smart kang. Also you need a big twist between the two films and that would be a huge twist, not just having the villain win but the villain being defeated by another villain and everyone waking up in a crazy new universe where that villain rules supreme.

I see people theorizing that Kang will take the beyonder role and Scarlet witch take the molecule man role. And that in Kang dynasty. It’ll be about the new avengers coming together to take down Kang and his variants but other variants from other earths will come to earth 616 to battle them.
