Cool little bike. Going to show this to my wife. I actually wish more companies would make cargo bikes with a 26" front and 20" rear. I think that would be the best of both worlds. Love your reviews can't wait for the next one ....LOL
@scotthardesty3 ай бұрын
I don't really consider this a cargo bike due to its size. To me, this is more of a utility bike (which was something Aventon was missing) as its size compares to other utility bikes I have reviewed.
@GregB-f1x3 ай бұрын
I have a cargo ebike from a competitor (Letric.) I find that the long tail makes it difficult for me to balance. I need to always remember that it sticks out so far behind me. I liken it to driving a bus versus a car. I must make wider turns and always be aware of the weight of any cargo behind me on the bike. So this shorter tail, utility cargo bike from Aventon is appealing to me from a handling stanpoint.

Hi Scott, That bike is loaded with tech and built very well. Strong frame with clean welds and beautiful paint. For those who like apps and safety features, it's a dream bike. So many anti theft features, it truly is a thief's worst nightmare. I know it's a theft deterrent but I do hope there is a way to unlock the battery through the display using a password also. This bike surprised me with its hill climbing abilities and with the sand test. It does make me wonder why they went with a 36v system instead of a 48 or 52v system. Maybe it has something to do with the two torque sensors. With the tires on this one, you wouldn't think it would be that good of an off-road bike but it does very well. Maybe it could use a longer travel on the front fork but it's okay for what this bike's intended use is. I really like the BMX handlebars and the suspension seat post. It's nice it also features a walk mode, I'm not sure if it has cruise control or not. I don't know how many bikes that have torque sensors also have a cruise feature, I'm sure some do. All and all a very nice bike built with quality and loaded with features for the price. App and tech riders , this is your bike. A free year of app service and only $20 a year after that is a great price for the amount of control options, safety features, information and theft deterrents this bike offers. There are not many, if any other bikes, that offer what this bike does. How many other bikes tell you how many miles are left in the battery pack? Thanks for the review Scott, Chicago looks great! Looks like you really enjoyed this one. Good job Aventon and thorough review as always Scott. Take care -----Steve.
@scotthardesty3 ай бұрын
Hi Steve, Yes, you can unlock the battery in the display as well. I guess I should have pointed that out. It doesn't have cruise control. Bikes with cruise control only work with throttle only so it doesn't matter if its a cadence or torque sensor. The only other bike I have noticed that tells me how much range I have left (that I can remember) is the Aventon Ramblas. As always, thanks for watching and commenting!

Does this bike ride considerably better than the Velotric Go 1? I bought the Go 1 and the front end seems unstable to me. My bike shop said this was normal and it has to do with the geometry. I'm also not crazy about the jerkiness of the cadence sensor. I come from many years of riding manual road and gravel bikes and the lack of ride quality and handling of the Go 1 has been disappointing. I like the design of the shorter cargo bikes and being able to jump on it to run errands, but I want to enjoy the ride and feel safe and I'm not finding that with the Go 1. Unfortunately there are no local shops near me that stock these for me to test ride. If there is a huge difference in these two bikes in overall ride quality I would like to replace my Go 1.

I expected the 203mm in the front and a 180mm in the rear. I have a Tektro 4 piston hydralic brakes on my Ecell's Dual Star. It stops on a dime! I like the idea of have a dual torque sensor. Some of the features are pretty good. However, I dont know if I like the amount of control Aventon has over your bike. They can see if you "unlocked" the bike, know your riding style, and etc. What I'm really looking for is a rear powered 750w to 1000w tricycle for my wife. The front motor only is not that powerful, even if the front motor is 750w to 1000w. You get a lot of burnout and skipping on the concrete. That might have been cool on a Big Wheel in the late 70's and early 80's, but not for a tricycle. I'm looking for a safe trike for my wife. 750w to 1000w rear wheel drive, nice display, right twist throttle, torque sensor, 203mm front and back disc brakes, Tektro or better brakes, and a good derailleur. The 7 and 8 speed derailleur selection is very minimal. Some of the choices for derailleur's are 30 years old. I also want to batteries for her. Grant you she won't be ablt to go to all the places I can go on my 1500w Ecell's Dual Star, but I want to ride with my wife. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I also just subbed to a "Strava" app. on a trial basis. Any other good apps that show more trails and are more bike friendly? Thank you for reading!

How does this compare in size to a normal bike, especially the back end with no accessories? I know its not reccomended, but could I feasibly fit someone about 25 pounds over the reccomended rear rack limit onto it? Your review was the best of the ones I watched but I still had these two questions.

It's about the same length of a standard utility ebike. When it comes to adding extrea weight on the back then what is recommended, I personally wouldn't risk it as either the rear motor might not be able to handle it, or the rack itself might fail.
