Funny, I'd probably do just the opposite, put a 48t or 52t front chain ring for higher top speed. The motor is so strong I can't imagine having a very hard time getting up most hills with the gears that comes with the bike. 🤷
@matthart773 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was thinking the same thing, in PAS 5 i'm barely putting in any effort even when I pedal as fast as I can, and I'd like to get the top speed AND a workout in. With a bigger front chainring and more gears in back I think we'd get the best of both worlds.
@18andlikeit3 жыл бұрын
@@matthart77 I just bought a e-bike with a 11t to 30t cassette, with a 44t chain ring. Haven't got it yet. I'll have to see how much power I get from the 500w motor but I'm thinking I'll put at least a 48t chain ring on it. I'd like to be able to cruise at around 25mph on smooth level pavement without spinning my legs off. I'll know more when i get it.

Same I have this same bike and would only go for more speed as it climbs fine.
@wkraemer19577 күн бұрын
I did this upgrade. It helps three ways...It makes it much easier to climb the REALLY steep hills. It allows you to have a high crank speed when creeping on a difficult single track trail. You can power through the tight turns and hazards, easier. Because I decreased a tooth on the highest gear, I can go a bit faster, with a comfortable effort. The bike shop did this for less than $78.00. New chain and 11-40 Tooth Cassette. I would recommend this upgrade wholeheartedly.

Barry, Very happy this helped you. We definitely recommend doing the front sprocket swap. The rear cassette is a little more difficult, but 100% do the front sprocket! Please subscribe and hit the bell. We have many more videos planned and on the way!

@@BrandonNapier Any update on post front sprocket upgrade? Are you still happy with it? Any down side? Does it mess up the distance and speed calculations in the display? Thanks
@BrandonNapier3 жыл бұрын
@@breabarry, absolutely do it!!! The front sprocket upgrade is super easy and provides only benefits for this bike. It will NOT mess up the range or speed calculations since that is done through a rear wheel sensor, not the peddles. On the other hand, I would not recommend the rear sprocket upgrade. The shift cable in the Aventon is not very good, and this makes it impossible to get the shifting tunes very smoothly. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Great video! So I want to put even smaller front sprocket on my Aventure..say maybe to 40 teeth ...to help with clearance and not keep bottoming out on rocks or stubs...do you think that would still work?
@BrandonNapier2 жыл бұрын
Yea i think it would work fine. changing the front sprocket is way better than doing the rear. the rear is too difficult to get working correctly with the shifting.

Its a nice idea the Join the movement campaign, But Im sorry I am not feeling it. please let me know if your bike had problems or am I the only one.
